Tian Du Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re here!” Old Master Su, gripping his cane, his head wrapped in gauze, was visibly excited, completely forgetting his pain.

“As expected of the Tian Du Chamber of Commerce—it’s truly imposing.” Standing to the left, Su Yixue gazed up at the towering building, overwhelmed by awe. Fantasies of marrying into a wealthy family flashed vividly through her mind.

“One day, this Chamber of Commerce will be under our control. There’s no need to get so worked up.” Su Yicai placed both hands behind his back, appearing unusually calm, as if he were strolling through his own property, utterly at ease and without a trace of apprehension.

“Yicai’s right, we absolutely mustn’t let our small-mindedness show!” Old Master Su quickly agreed, reining in his excitement. He then assumed the air of a wronged victim, his steps deliberately unsteady, and marched inside, putting on a pitiful act.

Upon entering the grand foyer, they announced their arrival. Within ten minutes, they were ushered into the elevator and taken straight to the top floor.

Standing outside the office on the top floor, Old Master Su began forcing out tears before he even opened the door, crying more woefully than a wronged heroine, and shouted, “There’s no justice in this world! This is simply too much! Young Lord Ye, you must stand up for this old man!”

Seeing this, Su Yicai hurriedly added, “Brother-in-law, Grandpa’s been beaten up! You can’t just ignore this! At the very least, you have to step in, or we’ll truly lose all dignity!”

Unable to contain herself, Su Yixue reached out to push the door open, but before she could even call out for her husband, she realized the person she wished to see was not inside.

Peering in, Su Yixue saw an elderly matron, her face clouded with sternness and her gaze so authoritative it seemed to pierce right through them.

Beside her stood a dignified, elegant woman, whose expression betrayed undisguised disdain and seething anger.

Old Master Su, about to continue his act for sympathy, froze the moment his eyes focused on the scene. Memories of his years as a servant surged forth, his scalp tingled, and all color drained from his face.

“My la—”

“Madam! And... Mistress!”

With a thud—

“Your humble servant Su Dahai bows before Madam, before Mistress!” Old Master Su dropped to his knees in terror, not a moment’s hesitation, prostrating himself and trembling uncontrollably.

Su Yixue was struck as if by lightning, her pupils dilated, her mind blank. As descendants of a former servant family, they knew better than anyone who the Madam was.

The Madam was the highest authority in the entire Ye family.

And the Mistress—she was none other than the birth mother of the Young Master!

Su Yicai was equally shaken but responded quickly, pulling Su Yixue down to kneel as well. They both performed a deep bow and pleaded, “Madam, please uphold justice for our Su family!”

They had expected events to unfold according to their plans, but in a blink, Madam’s face turned stormy with rage. She rebuked them sharply, “You Su family are truly bold. I haven’t come looking for you, yet you dare come here yourselves!”

“Since you’ve come, don’t expect to leave so easily!” Jiang Yingxia’s anger was barely contained; she had long loathed the Su family and was only looking for an outlet. Now, they had delivered themselves right to her.

Without hesitation, Jiang Yingxia summoned Captain Ma and a group of bodyguards, who promptly pinned all three of them to the ground.

“This...” Old Master Su was caught completely off guard, his face pressed to the floor, stunned beyond words.

Su Yixue was frozen in shock, unable to utter a sound.

Su Yicai gasped, then mustered his voice, “Madam, please let us explain—there must be some misunderstanding!”

“There’s no misunderstanding. There’s not a good one among you Su family. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re plotting!” Madam snapped.

Jiang Yingxia glared, then gave the order: “Hit them. Hit them hard. Make sure they can’t even care for themselves. Let them learn their lesson!”

At her command, the bodyguards went to work.

“Madam, please, let me explain, I—I—” Old Master Su was beaten so badly he rolled across the floor in a wretched heap.

“Help!” Su Yixue shrieked as her hair was yanked and her face slapped again and again, swelling grotesquely like a pig’s head.

Su Yicai fared the worst of all—one of his front teeth was kicked out, a fist the size of a casserole pounded his belly, his eyes bulged, tears streamed down his face, and he nearly lost control of his bowels. His agonized screams filled the air; no matter how clever he’d been before, his wits failed him now.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Fists and kicks rained down in a shocking display.

No one knew how much time passed before Madam finally waved a hand to stop, ordering the bodyguards to drag the three downstairs and toss them out the door like so much garbage.

“How did it come to this? Why did this happen?” Old Master Su collapsed in the street, as helpless as a drowned rat, unable even to get up.

“When have I ever been beaten like this? Is my face ever going to recover?” Su Yixue wept in agony, her mouth twisted with pain.

Su Yicai’s mouth twitched as he fought to endure the pain, his voice quavering, “It seems the Ye family already knows about us. This... this must be another scheme. Madam and Mistress must be testing our reaction!”

“Brat, why do I feel something’s not quite right?” Old Master Su gritted his teeth.

“Brother-in-law wasn’t there so it would be easier for them to act. If he had been present, Madam and Mistress wouldn’t have laid a hand on us. There’s nothing off about this—it’s just as I said. This is another of brother-in-law’s schemes!” Su Yicai, deeply aggrieved, clung stubbornly to his reasoning.

“But isn’t this just too miserable?” Su Yixue sobbed uncontrollably.

Su Yicai drew a deep breath and said, “The Ye family’s tests were never simple. For the sake of our future, we must grit our teeth and endure. Only by suffering now can we enjoy sweet days ahead!”

Old Master Su nodded vigorously. “That’s true enough. You two, hurry up and help me up—get me to the hospital! I think my back is broken. Oh, my heavens!”
