Chapter 58: A New Arrangement
“You idiot, how dare you raise your hand against me?”
“I see that every single one of your family is utterly clueless!”
“Scoundrels, you are nothing but scoundrels!”
Old Master Su lay sprawled on the ground, his head streaming with blood from the blows. Enraged and humiliated, he cursed furiously.
“You old bastard, I should have ended your miserable life last time!” Ye Tianlin showed no mercy, raining down blows upon him with a vengeance, the sounds echoing loudly.
Terrified, Old Master Su’s nose was smashed brutally, tears streaming from his eyes as he screamed in agony, a sound like a pig being slaughtered.
Su Yixue stared wide-eyed, utterly stunned by the scene.
Su Yicai, quick to react, rolled up his sleeves and charged forward, fists raised and spewing curses at Ye Tianlin.
“Get out!” Ye Tianlin lifted his leg and kicked Su Yicai hard in the stomach.
Caught off guard, Su Yicai was sent flying three meters across the room, tumbling onto the balcony, unable to hold back as bile rose up his throat.
Ye Tianlin made as if to continue, intent on beating Old Master Su to death right then and there.
Su Rulan finally snapped out of her shock, rushing forward to block him, pleading, “Tianlin, don’t be reckless!”
Su Weimin drew in a sharp breath and helped restrain Ye Tianlin, shouting angrily, “You bastard! Are you trying to ruin us even more? Do you want us to be cut off from Su Enterprises for good?”
“I think you’ve lost your mind! This was a rare opportunity from the old master, and you’ve thrown it away!” Gao Yulan cried out in panic.
“You’ll die miserable deaths!” Su Yixue cursed as she helped Old Master Su to his feet.
Shaky and battered, Old Master Su struggled upright, leaning heavily on his cane, his face contorted with bulging veins. He thought that with Ye Tianlin this crazed, he might truly commit murder. Rather than let this drag on, it was better to make a clean break.
With fierce eyes, Old Master Su declared, “Well done! You really are something—raising your hand against me, refusing to see reason. From this day forward, the Su family is severing all ties with you!”
Su Yicai, having caught his breath, clutched his aching stomach and cursed, “Your whole family—if anything happens to you in the future, don’t come to us, and don’t claim to be Su family relatives!”
“I wish Rulan would cut ties with you sooner, so we won’t be endlessly dragged into your mess,” Ye Tianlin replied coldly.
Old Master Su wiped his bloodied face and said icily, “That’s my line. With these injuries today, even if the Ye Clan hears about it, they won’t blame us. You brought this upon yourselves!”
With that, the three members of the Su family left without another word.
After they departed, Su Weimin exploded first, overturning the tea table and pointing at Ye Tianlin’s nose, cursing, “You idiot! Are you really this stupid? Do you have any idea how dire our situation is?”
“I’m about to die of anger thanks to you! The old master was about to agree to let us return to Su Enterprises, and now, thanks to your antics, we’ve been cut off for good!” Gao Yulan was beside herself.
Ye Tianlin retorted angrily, “What’s so great about working at Su Enterprises anyway? You have to beg on your knees to get their approval. I say it’s better to have nothing to do with them!”
“That’s easy for you to say. If you’re so capable, why don’t you go out and earn a living?” Su Weimin gritted his teeth, wishing he could shove Ye Tianlin’s head into a toilet and give it a good scrubbing.
“Do you understand? Rulan is being targeted everywhere, failing every interview. If we don’t turn to Su Enterprises, where else can we go?” Gao Yulan ranted like a shrew.
Su Rulan quickly calmed herself and stepped between them, saying, “Dad, Mom, stop arguing. Tianlin just can’t stand seeing me humiliated. As for the job situation, I’ll figure something out. Perhaps someone will actually be willing to hire me.”
“Don’t be naive! Do you not understand our predicament? It’s all Ye Tianlin’s fault—he’s a total idiot. The doctors said he’s cured, but I think they misdiagnosed him! He’s hopeless, beyond saving!” Su Weimin spat as he cursed.
Gao Yulan nodded fervently, complaining, “He’s been dragging us down since five years ago. Now, even our last shred of hope has been destroyed, all because of him—a walking disaster.”
Su Rulan’s expression was troubled, and she was about to defend Ye Tianlin again when he suddenly raised his hand to interrupt.
Ye Tianlin stepped forward, speaking seriously, “I did this so you wouldn’t have to grovel and beg, always at the mercy of others. Whether you understand or not, I’ve already found jobs for you.”
Su Weimin was about to curse him again, but paused, frowning in surprise. “Wait, you found us jobs?”
“Why else do you think I’ve been going out? There’s more to this world than Su Enterprises. The Ye Clan’s influence only goes so far—there are places even they can’t reach,” Ye Tianlin shrugged.
“You’re not just bluffing, are you? Don’t exaggerate!” Gao Yulan’s expression shifted.
Ye Tianlin decisively produced three interview application forms, pointing to the details, indicating, “Tomorrow morning, each of you has an interview at the places listed here.”
“Is it another janitor job?” Su Weimin took one skeptically. As his eyes scanned the form, he froze, then exclaimed in shock.
“Shangjing Consortium, Yunhai Chamber of Commerce?”
“Could it be the Yunhai Chamber of Commerce that was just established a few days ago…”
