After Luo Yuan obtained the inheritance of the Obsidian Star, he left the spaceship and soared above the misty island’s lake, flying effortlessly through the air. He released his spiritual sense in all directions, and soon discovered something interesting.

From the information gathered by his spiritual probe, Luo Yuan realized that Li Yao and his group were on the misty island, attacking those plant monsters to hunt for the Spirits of Flora. Besides Li Yao, who was a high-level War God, there were six other War Gods present, along with more than fifty elite high-level War Generals following behind them.

“How amusing—among these War Gods, there’s actually a spiritualist. Could it be the Illusion Demon, Katran?” Luo Yuan smiled.

Without interference from other factions, this group had managed to seize a fair number of Spirits of Flora. Luo Yuan himself now possessed plenty of Wood Sprout Crystals, so he was not particularly interested in those Spirits. However, the time had come to eliminate these venomous snakes who had been scheming against him from the shadows.

“Hahaha, we really ought to thank that Luo Yuan this time. Otherwise, how could we have found this treasure trove and obtained so many Spirits of Flora? When we finally catch him, we must make sure he suffers!” Vulture Li Yao let out a hearty laugh.

“Shut your mouth. I can sense that this place is dangerous. We’ve acquired enough Spirits of Flora; it’s time to leave,” Katran said indifferently, her expression cold.

“Hmph.” Li Yao was enraged by Katran’s rudeness, but dared not lash out.

Swish—swish—

Li Yao’s group left the misty island and waited along the only path back to the Australian continent’s airfield, their laser cannons trained on the route.

“Katran, you promised to help me deal with Luo Yuan. I even shared the location of the Spirits of Flora with all of you,” Vulture Li Yao said to Katran.

“Don’t question my word,” Katran replied coldly, casting a chilly glance at him before falling silent.

Luo Yuan, as if on a leisurely tour, made his way calmly toward the Australian airfield, pretending he hadn’t noticed Li Yao’s group. When his figure finally appeared in their line of sight, Vulture Li Yao’s lips curled into a bloodthirsty sneer.

“Well, all of you are here. I’ve kept you waiting so long—it must have been hard for you.”

Luo Yuan stood steadily as Li Yao’s group encircled him, his expression playful and mocking.

“Luo Yuan, you’re at death’s door yet still so arrogant! Today, seven War Gods will hunt you down—you’re doomed!” Li Yao gritted his teeth, his eyes burning with murderous intent.

“So confident? Do you really think you, a bunch of nobodies, can kill me? Who gave you that courage?” Luo Yuan replied with a scornful laugh.

“Courting death!” Li Yao, clad in his Black God armor, glared at Luo Yuan, leading the charge.

“Kneel!”

Luo Yuan uttered the word coolly, unleashing his secret psychic technique, “Soulquake.” Instantly, a powerful wave of spiritual force rippled outward, enveloping the group. Everyone caught in the wave grew dizzy and, against their will, dropped to their knees. The weaker high-level War Generals’ heads exploded on the spot, their brains and blood splattering everywhere.

“How…how is this possible?” Even as she knelt, Katran managed to retain a shred of consciousness and cried out in shock.

“Since I’ve run into you here, I might as well send you all on your way. I’ve already recorded your group’s ambush—your Polenaspo family can look forward to annihilation,” Luo Yuan sneered.

The psychic attack “Soulquake” cost Luo Yuan only the slightest amount of energy, serving mainly to stun and distract. Now, with a single thought, ten out of the twenty SS-grade flying knives swirling around him shot forth, spinning at lethal speed toward Li Yao’s group.

In an instant, the knives pierced the foreheads of those present, killing them all except for a few War Gods protected by Black God armor. Luo Yuan then directed all twenty flying knives at one War God at a time; the immense force shattered their armored bodies into pulp, leaving nothing of Illusion Demon Katran but a heap of mangled flesh.

Whizz—whizz—whizz—

The twenty SS-grade flying knives hovered midair, their razor edges glinting, surrounding Li Yao’s head from every angle. He was now the only survivor, staring in terror at Luo Yuan, who floated above the ground like a deity descending to earth. Fear surged inside him like a tidal wave.

“Luo Yuan, you’ve already reached Planetary rank—you hid it well! What a ruthless little devil!”

“Awei, I failed to avenge you!”

“I’m worthless!”

“It’s over, all over, everything’s finished!”

“Luo Yuan, Luo Yuan! If there are ghosts after death, I won’t let you rest!” Though Li Yao spoke not a word aloud, his heart roared with endless fury and resentment. But no matter how deep his hatred, when Luo Yuan killed him, it all came to nothing.

“I can’t accept this! I can’t accept dying like this!” Li Yao’s silent despair made his tightly clenched jaws bleed.

Luo Yuan watched Li Yao’s struggles with a cold smile. He didn’t kill him immediately; after all, Li Yao was only a step away from Planetary rank himself. Luo Yuan was curious to see how his own strength compared to that of an ordinary Planetary warrior. Even if Li Yao managed a breakthrough, Luo Yuan felt no fear.

Suddenly, the light around them twisted violently. Li Yao, who had been kneeling on the ground, threw back his head and howled, “Ahhhhhhh—!” His aura surged, reaching the first stage of the Planetary rank in a flash, his body radiating golden light.

“Hahaha! So this is the power of the Planetary rank—how intoxicating! Luo Yuan, I should thank you—this brush with death forced my breakthrough. Now we’re equals; let’s see who kills whom! Die!”

With a thunderous shout, Li Yao transformed into a beam of light, charging at Luo Yuan with astonishing speed. Yet Luo Yuan remained composed. The two clashed in midair, fists colliding, shockwaves rippling outward. Luo Yuan remained unmoved, while Li Yao was sent hurtling back like a meteor, crashing into the ground and leaving a crater a hundred meters wide.

“Cough, cough… How could this be? How is your strength so overwhelming?” Li Yao sputtered blood, his face twisted in terror.

“Light attribute genetic energy +1.”

“Light attribute genetic energy +1.”

“Light skill attribute +1.”

“Light skill attribute +1.”

“Hm?”

Startled by the system’s notification, Luo Yuan realized he could collect the genetic energy and skills of another Planetary-level warrior. As he absorbed more attributes, a second dantian began to form beside his original one, in which a tiny, glowing star core slowly grew larger.

“How interesting—you’re nothing but experience points for me.” Luo Yuan gazed at Li Yao with greedy anticipation, making the terrified man shudder uncontrollably.

With another thought, Luo Yuan collected the Black God armor sets and the Spirits of Flora scattered on the ground, intending to sell them directly to the Extreme Martial Hall.
