“Anger has already robbed you of all reason, my foolish brother!”
“I am far more suited to wield this tower than you!” The old priest looked down at the half-man, half-crocodile below, his face devoid of expression as he spoke.
The creature that now stood there was no longer the same as before; while the body remained unchanged, the consciousness controlling it had shifted.
His brother, the Crocodile God Sobek, had possessed that body—just as he himself had possessed this frail, aging mortal.
At these words, Sobek, lying on the ground, became even more furious. “Get lost! That’s the tower I painstakingly built—why should I let you use it?”
With that, he leapt onto the pyramid’s base and rapidly ascended the structure.
“I am stronger than you. If I descend into this world, I can establish myself more firmly, break through the world’s barrier, and welcome the descent of the gods!” Anubis declared with righteous conviction.
“I don’t care about any of that! All I know is you stole my followers and now you’re trying to steal my tower too!” Sobek’s logic was as crude as a bandit’s, and it nearly made his lungs burst with rage.
He gathered his cosmos in his hand, instantly manifesting a massive axe, which he hurled at Anubis from afar.
Anubis shifted slightly, dodging the spinning weapon.
Unfortunately, the pyramid beneath him was not so lucky—the axe struck, leaving a deep scar along its surface.
“Sobek, stop this nonsense! Cover me while I open the Gate of the Starry Sky, so my true form may descend into this world!” Anubis said, somewhat displeased.
The pyramid beneath him was not a mere temple but a special device—a base designed to pierce the world’s barrier and create a passage for the gods’ true forms to enter this realm. Thus, it was called the Gate of the Starry Sky.
However, Sobek’s pyramid was crude, allowing only a single use of the Gate, and even then, it could not accommodate gods of great power.
As the elder brother, he knew Sobek’s character all too well. Rather than let Sobek squander this precious chance, Anubis would seize it for himself.
What’s more, Sobek’s underground city had already been discovered twice by the Saints.
If they came again, it would surely be a Gold Saint next time.
If he didn’t seize this opportunity to act, the pyramid would never be used again.
“Anubis, don’t even think about it! I’d sooner destroy this pyramid than let you have it!” Sobek, blinded by rage, lunged at him.
He had toiled to gather his followers and construct this pyramid for his own use.
Who would have thought that Anubis would silently claim the souls of his followers and then commandeer his tower, acting as if it were only right?
How could anyone tolerate such a thing?
Moreover, although they were brothers by blood, relations between the two gods were worse than with any other deity.

Now, with old grudges unresolved and new ones added, Sobek wished nothing more than to twist off Anubis’s jackal head—how could he possibly help him open the Gate of the Starry Sky?
“Don’t forget—the noble Ennead still awaits our summons!” Anubis shouted as he retreated in haste.
“I don’t care about your plans!” Sobek’s eyes were now blood-red with fury.
Boom!
Renekton missed his target, smashing a huge hole in the pyramid’s body. The impact was so great that the entire structure shook violently.
Seeing this, Yin Seventeen’s pupils contracted in alarm, worried that the massive pyramid might topple from the force.
At last, he fully understood what was happening.
It turned out that a god named Anubis had stolen Sobek’s pyramid and was preparing to open a passage to descend into their world.
“What should we do? Should we try to stop them?” Ruolan asked timidly.
“If you don’t want to die, stay put!” Yin Seventeen shot her a look.
She was shaking with fear, yet still considered rushing into the fray—he truly didn’t know what she was thinking.
“But… it’s our duty to protect the earth. Is it really right for us to just stand by and watch?” Ruolan was visibly uneasy.
This clearly went against the code of the Saints.
“But those are two gods fighting up there! If we go, we’ll just be throwing our lives away!” Yin Seventeen reasoned patiently.
“But if they succeed in building that ‘Gate of the Starry Sky’, the evil gods will descend upon the earth!” Ruolan’s face was filled with worry.
She did not fear death, but she feared dying without being able to prevent the evil gods’ arrival.
Once the evil gods descended, peace on earth would be shattered.
Then the war of the gods would begin—a calamity far more dreadful than the battles of the Saints.
For the weak and ordinary people, it would be an apocalypse.
Gazing at the pyramid, which had ceased its ascent, Yin Seventeen said gravely, “Even if I don’t fully understand this ‘Gate of the Starry Sky’, I’m certain that opening the world’s barrier to allow the evil gods in will not be a quiet affair.”
“At that point, Sanctuary will surely sense the disturbance and send reinforcements.”
“All we need to do is wait here.”
The fluctuations from this fight were one thing; after all, Sanctuary was thousands of miles away and the Saints could not watch every corner of the world. It was normal that they had not noticed this yet.
But if the world’s barrier was breached and they still failed to notice, they would be utterly incompetent.

Upon hearing this, Ruolan suddenly remembered something. “Oh! I recall now!”
“A senior once told me that breaking through the world’s barrier would shake the very laws of the world; every being with a Seventh Sense would feel it in their heart.”
“If anything unusual happens, the Gold Saints of the Twelve Temples will rush to support us immediately.”
“Exactly. So we just need to wait and see,” Yin Seventeen shrugged.
Meanwhile, the battle atop the pyramid had reached its conclusion.
Though both gods had possessed mortal vessels and wielded the power of the Seventh Sense, even among those, there were strengths and weaknesses.
Moreover, the very fact that Anubis dared to risk Sobek’s wrath to seize the pyramid spoke volumes.
No matter what, a big brother is still a big brother.
Sobek was defeated. Anubis struck him down from the pyramid, embedding him deep in the earth.
Yet, though victorious, Anubis had paid a price; his aura was clearly weaker than before.
He poured his remaining strength into the pyramid, preparing to open the Gate of the Starry Sky.
In an instant, the pyramid’s summit unfurled like petals, and a radiant beam of light shot straight into the sky.
Yin Seventeen thought he saw a river of stars within that brilliance—a river stretching out beyond the heavens.
“So that is the ‘Gate of the Starry Sky’?” he murmured.
In the Greek Sanctuary, the moment the pyramid’s light soared skyward and struck the world’s barrier, every Saint with a Seventh Sense felt the anomaly.
The Pope was about to dispatch a Gold Saint when a golden light burst from the Twelve Temples, shooting down from the sacred mountain.
A Gold Saint had already set out.
Possessing the Seventh Sense, a Gold Saint could move at the speed of light, circling the earth seven and a half times in a second.
In other words, with a single thought, they could appear anywhere on the planet in an instant.
This was one reason why Gold Saints rarely acted lightly.
So long as someone provided a location, they could offer immediate support—there was no need to waste time on reconnaissance.
