Chapter 110: By the Pacific (Part Two)
Io’s cosmos power transformed into a massive gray bear over two meters tall, which lunged directly at the azure divine dragon.
Bang!
The gray bear struck out with its thick paws, but against the force of the azure dragon’s charge, it was utterly ineffective, shattering instantly and dissipating into the air.
A roar—
The divine dragon bellowed, then struck the six Sacred Beasts behind it, Io among them.
A pained scream rang out as Io was swept up by the dragon’s momentum and slammed into the nearby seahorse, Baian.
“What?!” Baian was stunned, utterly unprepared for the aged Bronze Saint, Tōko, to unleash such power.
After overwhelming Io’s strongest attack—the “Bear’s Crushing Blow”—Tōko still had energy to launch another offensive.
“Ripple Defense!”
Baian extended both arms, palms facing forward, and instantly a barrier of invisible cosmic energy formed before him.
Among the seven Marine Generals, Baian was renowned for his formidable defense.
Yet, before the azure divine dragon, Baian’s proud energy barrier was utterly useless.
The dragon hesitated only briefly before shattering the barrier completely.
A roar—
The azure dragon, brimming with overwhelming might, crashed into Baian, flinging him away to the side.
“Thank you, Master!” Mu turned back to express his gratitude before preparing to leave.
At that moment, a golden arc of light shot swiftly from the south, aiming straight for his back.
Feeling the sharp energy within the arc, Mu dared not expose his vulnerable back, as he was without his Sacred Cloth and thus physically fragile.
“Crystal Wall!”
He immediately manifested his cosmos into a translucent shield behind him.
Clang!
The golden arc struck the crystal wall, pausing only momentarily before breaking through.
“How is this possible?!” Mu was shocked.
Among the twelve Zodiac Gold Saints, his “Crystal Wall” was considered the strongest defense, capable even of reflecting some attacks.
Few could shatter his crystal wall.
Yet here, unexpectedly, one had.
Despite his surprise, Mu quickly dodged aside.
Fortunately, the crystal wall had delayed the golden arc; otherwise, he would have been in grave danger.
Swish!
The golden arc grazed past his right side, slicing a wound across his arm.
Only then did Mu clearly see its true form.
It was a dark golden spear!
Soon after, accompanied by a bold laugh, a powerful surge of cosmos entered the area.
“I say, why didn’t you call me for such an interesting event?” The newcomer’s skin was bronzed, clad in dark golden scale armor, teasing the battered Baian and Io.
“Another Marine General?” Mu furrowed his brow tighter upon recognizing the figure.
“Why are you just standing there? Hurry and leave!” Tōko shouted urgently, seeing Mu hesitate.
“Yes!” Mu’s heart tightened, and he prepared to retreat.
Unfortunately, though the newcomer was joking with his two companions, his focus had not shifted from Mu.
“Spear, come!”
The man opened his right hand and lightly called, and a golden beam of light shot up from the sea, landing in his grasp.
It was the very dark golden spear that had just struck Mu!
He lightly waved the spear, channeling his cosmos into it, instantly transforming the weapon’s energy into a razor-sharp beam flying toward his opponent.
Feeling the danger, Mu did not expose his back and slightly turned aside to dodge.
Whoosh!
The spear’s beam struck the sea surface, instantly cleaving a thousand-meter-long, bottomless trench.
“Why the rush? Why not stay and play a little longer?” he laughed at Mu.
“Let me be your opponent!” Tōko on shore unleashed his signature move once more.
“Mount Lu·Ascending Dragon Overlord!”
A blue divine dragon surged toward the newly arrived Marine General.
“It’s an honor to face you, Lord Tōko!” the man met the dragon head-on, laughing boldly as he thrust his spear, secretly transmitting to his two comrades: “I’ll handle Tōko; you two deal with Aries!”
“Understood!”
The weary Baian and Io did not object.
This man was none other than Kurishuna, the Prince of the Seas and Guardian of the Indian Ocean, one of the seven Marine Generals.
Blessed with the spear granted by Poseidon, Kurishuna possessed the sharpest offense among the generals.
Whoosh!
Cosmos energy burst from the spear, transforming into a golden, razor-sharp beam that effortlessly pierced the blue divine dragon and continued toward the elder behind it.
Though pierced, the dragon was not destroyed, still carrying residual power as it surged toward Kurishuna.
Bang!
Unprepared for Tōko’s strength, Kurishuna was blown away by the dragon’s force despite the spear’s piercing attack.
On shore, Tōko quickly lowered his head as the golden beam swept overhead, deeply embedding into the ground behind him.
“That spear is indeed troublesome,” the elder murmured, frowning lightly.
A survivor of the last Holy War, he knew well that the spear was a weapon bestowed by the Sea Emperor, on par with the Capricorn’s holy sword—exceptionally sharp and capable of penetrating even Gold Cloth.
In many ways, this Marine General already possessed the merit to stand against him.
On the sea, Kurishuna wiped blood from his lips, gripping the spear tightly as he slowly rose, his gaze burning hotter toward Tōko.
He relished the challenge of a strong opponent.
Though Tōko’s strike was weakened by the spear, its lingering force still tore several gashes in Kurishuna’s scale armor, comparable to Gold Cloth.
“Again!”
He raised his spear excitedly and charged at the elder on the shore.
Far to the east coast of the Atlantic, Shaka and Aphrodite, who had just left the Sanctuary en route to aid North America, heard a haunting flute melody.
The tune was beautiful yet extremely eerie.
Even Aphrodite, a Gold Saint, grew drowsy and unable to focus.
Clearly, an enemy lurked in the shadows, using this flute melody as an attack.
Consequently, the two were forced to halt.
“Come out! Don’t hide in the sea!” Shaka closed his eyes and shouted toward the ocean.
He sensed the hidden cosmos within the flute’s melody came from beneath the waves.
Yet the flute continued unabated, showing no sign of stopping.
“If that’s the case, don’t blame me for being ruthless!” Shaka clasped his hands, silently igniting his cosmos.
Though his words sounded angry, his tone remained calm—still as the waters of an ancient well.
His cosmos enveloped his body, manifesting into a giant pink lotus that encased him.
Soon, as his power reached its peak, the petals slowly but surely unfurled one by one.
“Evil be gone!”
“Demonic forces, be subdued!”
