Chapter 12: What Right Does He Have to Be a Witch? What Right, Indeed!!!

“Today, I’m locking in Player 10’s elimination. No one is allowed to alter the order, including my confirmed-good player. I believe that if he dared to jump into the role from this position and give a confirmed-good result to a later player, then he absolutely cannot be a wolf with a gun.”
“Because if he and Player 11 are strangers to each other, and Player 11 counterclaims the seer, he’ll be poisoned tonight. Of course, in my eyes, Players 10 and 11 are both wolves now, but today still belongs to Player 10.”
“The order is settled. Now that my confirmed-good player is dead as well, the guardian on the field must conceal their identity. With two powerful roles already out, the wolves beneath the sheriff’s badge should listen to one more round of speeches. If you think you may have exposed your true role, then you must protect yourself tonight!”
“If you think you’ve hidden yourself well enough, you can choose not to guard anyone for one round and gamble that the wolves’ kill will fall elsewhere. Even if it lands on the hunter, that’s fine; at least the hunter can take a wolf down with them.”
“That way, you can protect yourself again on the second day and let the wolves kill another villager. This is our only path to victory.”
After Kuang Li delivered this fierce speech, he added one final sentence: “Right now, I only hope Player 7 is a good role like me. That way, even if we ultimately lose, I can accept it and still advance. But although I’m reluctant to believe it, Player 7 is most likely a wolf. Vote out Player 10 on the first day. If the hunter is killed tonight, have them take Player 11 with them. If not, then eliminate Players 10, 11, and 7 in that order. Of course, you’ll have to listen carefully to Players 11 and 7 and determine which one might be the wolf with a gun.”
“That’s all I have to say. I hope the wolves will give us a chance. Otherwise, it’ll be very difficult for the good side to win.”
When Kuang Li finished speaking and was called away, his figure gradually faded from above the round table, eventually transforming into an eerie, indistinct black shadow. A devilish bronze mask still covered the shadow’s face.
This was what happened to a player after being eliminated in the virtual space.
Kuang Li would not awaken in his gaming pod at this moment.
He had to wait until the game was completely over and the judge announced the victory of one faction.
Only then would he awaken from the pod together with everyone else.
This was to prevent the outside world from learning anything about the game in advance.
However, even after transforming into a shadow, Kuang Li could still observe the changes taking place on the field.
He could even watch from the perspective of an audience member outside the game.
“The witch in this game is no ordinary player. She got both of us wolves eliminated on the first day. I really want to see who she is. Could she be from the Wings Team? Their witches always love pulling off flashy plays…”
Kuang Li, now a black shadow, opened the audience view.
A screen visible only to him appeared before his eyes.
But when his gaze fell upon Player 7, whose role had already been revealed, his mouth fell open in shock.
“How can this be? How can this be?”
His pupils contracted violently, and his entire being seemed to verge on madness.
“That thing is actually the witch? How could he possibly be the witch? He’s the witch, yet he didn’t save anyone and still used his poison? How? How could he?!”

Kuang Li wanted to roar until his voice broke.
But at this moment, he was nothing more than a black shadow.
No matter how helplessly he raged, he had no way to influence the situation.
“Hm? Why is that shadow trembling?” Wang Changsheng glanced toward Player 3’s position.
It was his first time seeing a player transform from a living person into such a bizarre shadow.
He was about to take a closer look when he noticed that the shadow seemed to be faintly shaking.
This puzzled him.
As far as he remembered, there had been no records of anything like this.
“Maybe I simply never noticed it before.”
Wang Changsheng did not dwell on it. At that moment, following the system’s prompt, Player 1, the wolf who had sacrificed himself, began giving his final speech.
“I am the witch.”
Player 1’s expression was somewhat heavy. There was nothing he could do about it. Unlike Kuang Li, he did not have such a strong mentality; he was merely an average player on his team.
As a result, his acting was still a notch below Kuang Li’s.
His reaction speed, however, was still very fast.
With his very first sentence, he established the foundation of his role claim.
Thus, no matter how troubled he appeared, the good players currently in the game could interpret it as the witch being killed on the first night and feeling frustrated after poisoning someone who seemed to be the seer.
Player 1 therefore made no deliberate effort to heighten his emotions. He simply maintained his bitter expression and said quietly, “I’m sorry, but after being attacked, I had no choice but to use my poison. When I checked my role at the beginning, I managed to read a few players. In my eyes, Player 3 was either a powerful role or a wolf, so after being attacked, I hesitated for a while before poisoning him.”
“But looking at things now, he really did seem like the seer. All I can hope is that he left the game as a wolf. Otherwise, the good side has almost no chance of winning…”
When Player 1 said this, he was actually enduring tremendous torment inside.
What did he mean, the good side had almost no chance of winning?
Every good player was still in the game.

Two wolves had already been eliminated!
One of them was even the wolf king!
And the wolf king had been poisoned out of the game!
He had no chance to fire his gun.
The wolves could not catch up in the elimination order either.
Wasn’t this a catastrophic opening?
And the seer’s first investigation was even on Player 6…
Player 1 felt dizzy and light-headed.
Fortunately, the system and the gaming pod supported him.
Otherwise, he might have been so nervous that he could not have spoken at all.
There was nothing he could do. The current situation was completely beyond anything he had anticipated.
It was absurd!
The only thing Player 1 could do now was put on the witch’s disguise and confuse the good players elsewhere on the field.
Ideally, another wolf would claim the guardian’s role as well. After all, the witch had not saved anyone on the first night and still had a vial of antidote in hand…
As for who could claim the guardian’s role?
Player 1 furtively glanced at Player 6.
It could only be that adorable girl in the seer’s investigation path.
“Player 10 has now been elected sheriff, and he received a large number of votes. So after I leave, if Player 10 is a wolf, whoever he says should be eliminated will die. There’s nothing I can do except hope that Player 10 is the real seer.”
“If Player 10 is the seer, then Player 9, who voted with me against Player 3, may be suspicious. As for me, I’m the witch, and I voted against Player 3 because he gave me a confirmed-good result. I was attacked on the first night, so from my position, I feel that if Player 3 were a wolf, there would have been no reason for him to give a confirmed-good result to someone who had been attacked. That would have been far too contrived.”
“Those of you without the sheriff’s badge can listen carefully to Player 9’s speech. I don’t think he can claim any convincing role. The witch has left, and one of Players 3 and 10 is the seer. If Player 10 is the seer, then Player 9 can be eliminated immediately if he dares claim the guardian’s role, because the guardian cannot reveal themselves during today’s round. And if he claims to be a villager, he can still be eliminated as a sacrifice.”
