Chapter 106: Kill Them All!

The moment the two men stepped out, Chen Xiao was not the only one whose expression changed. He noticed that even Phoenix’s gaze shifted slightly, as though she too had sensed that someone else was hiding nearby, though she had not expected these two men to appear.

In the darkness, Phoenix took Chen Xiao’s hand and swiftly wrote several words in his palm:

The plan has changed. Wait and see.

Yasha seemed to know the two men. He snorted. “You two? I’ve never had any quarrel with your organization. Why have you come here to cause trouble for me?”

Organization?!

At the mention of those words, Chen Xiao’s pupils contracted. These two mysterious men were actually members of the Club?

Members of the Club had come to the coffee shop to commission a job? And they also knew Gonggong?!

But then the man in the top hat on the left spoke with a faintly mocking smile.

“Yasha, we haven’t been members of the Club for a long time.”

“Oh?” Yasha turned his head, as though gazing at them, and sneered. “You left the Club? Ha! I’ve heard that the Club’s punishment for traitors is the harshest in the entire world. Aren’t you two afraid?”

“If we were able to leave, naturally we had nothing to fear,” the man on the left replied. “Yasha, our current organization admires you greatly. We happened to learn that you were in K City, and heard that you had just clashed with someone and suffered a little setback. So we came looking for you…”

“For what?”

“An invitation.” The man in the left-hand top hat spoke slowly. “You are a renowned expert, and our organization has always held you in high regard. We came today to extend an invitation and hope that you will join us.”

Yasha burst into laughter. “An invitation? What a joke! I, Yasha, have always acted alone. I have never allowed anyone to command or control me! You want me to join someone else’s organization and obey their orders? Hmph!”

The man in the left-hand top hat seemed to sigh deliberately and leisurely.

“Times change, Yasha. My brother and I were once fearless men who feared nothing under heaven—except the Club. Yet we still joined our current organization. I guarantee that if you accept our invitation, then from this day forth, neither the Club nor the Service Society will ever…”

Yasha said nothing. He fell silent.

Chen Xiao did not know these two strange men, but Yasha clearly did. They were both highly renowned in the world of supernatural abilities. They might not have been quite as powerful as Yasha himself, but they were not far behind. With abilities like theirs, even if an ordinary organization begged them on its knees, they might not spare it so much as a glance.

Moreover, these two had once belonged to the Club. The Club was the second-most powerful organization in the world, surpassed only by the Service Society, and its punishments for traitors were infamous for their severity and cruelty. These two men had actually been willing to risk such danger to defect from the Club?

Then the organization they now served…

“Hmph!” Yasha said slowly. “What if I refuse? Are you going to kill me?”

Once again, it was the man in the left-hand top hat who spoke.

“What a pity… Yasha, our organization truly admires you. Are you really unwilling to give it some consideration?”

As Chen Xiao listened, he suddenly felt Phoenix’s hand tighten around his. It seemed to be an unconscious gesture. Some part of the conversation had evidently struck a nerve with her.

Then Chen Xiao felt her quickly write two words in his palm.

Save them!

Save whom? Yasha and Alice?

He had no time to think. When the man in the left-hand top hat saw that Yasha remained silent, he continued to sneer before finally sighing helplessly.

“What a pity. What a pity…”

At last, the man in the right-hand top hat—the one who had remained silent until then—spoke. His voice was dry and hoarse, and his words were brief.

“Kill them all.”

The instant his voice fell, both men in top hats raised their hands at the same time—one on the left, one on the right. Chen Xiao noticed that even now, they remained hand in hand, never separating for so much as a moment.

They attacked simultaneously, flinging out a cluster of egg-shaped objects that resembled miniature grenades.

The space where Yasha had concealed himself was narrow. The egg-shaped objects came flying in.

Yasha’s figure blurred and vanished from where he stood.

But at that very moment, the grenade-like objects suddenly exploded.

A rapid succession of blasts rang out. The exploding grenades released an intense, dazzling light.

It was as bright and piercing as sunlight.

Were they flashbangs?

Chen Xiao was puzzled, but Phoenix quickly whispered beside his ear, “Ultraviolet flares. I didn’t expect these men to come prepared. They must have brought these specifically to deal with Yasha.”

Yasha had vanished from his original position, but once the flares detonated, powerful light filled the entire area. Within that radiance was intense ultraviolet radiation—the substance Yasha feared most.

A cry of agony rang out from the air. Yasha’s body suddenly appeared out of nowhere, twisting as it crashed to the ground less than two meters in front of the two men.

Clearly, he had intended to attack them. His teleportation had carried him right before them, but the ultraviolet radiation wounded him before he could strike.

The powerful ultraviolet flares emitted radiation far stronger than ordinary sunlight. For a normal person, such exposure would cause little harm unless it continued for a prolonged period. But for Yasha, it was the deadliest weapon imaginable.

Alice let out a scream and hurriedly pulled an electromagnetic gun from beneath the metal platform. She aimed it at the two men in the distance and fired.

A blue arc of electromagnetic energy shot toward them. The man on the left merely raised a hand and waved it lightly. At once, a wall resembling a sheet of ice appeared in the air.

The arc struck the wall, then rebounded as though from a mirror, deflecting toward a corner of the ceiling.

With a thunderous boom, scorched flames erupted from the ceiling.

Alice’s supernatural ability was utterly useless in a direct confrontation. Now that even her greatest support, Yasha, was writhing helplessly on the ground, she saw countless ultraviolet rays striking his body as he twisted and rolled in agony.

A trace of panic flashed through Alice’s eyes. She finally threw aside the electromagnetic gun and turned to run.

She was heading straight toward the place where Chen Xiao and Phoenix were hiding.

But the man in the left-hand top hat merely sneered and waved his hand. A thick layer of ice suddenly appeared over the exit at the far end of the passage, spreading rapidly until the way out was completely sealed.

Alice cried out in despair, spun around, and shouted, “Don’t kill me! I’m willing to join your organization!”

The man on the left said nothing. The silent man on the right shook his head.

“The organization has no need for trash like you.”

Alice screamed. Her knees gave way, and she collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, Phoenix pulled Chen Xiao out from behind the corner. Seeing the thick wall of ice before them, she said rapidly, “Break it! Quickly!”

Without hesitation, Chen Xiao drew a breath and prepared to strike, but Phoenix’s voice suddenly turned grave.

“The man on the left is not frightening. He is only skilled at creating ice. But the silent one on the right… even I have to be wary of his ability. Be careful!”

Chen Xiao nodded at once and drove his fist into the ice wall.

His tremendous strength shattered it with a single blow.

Stepping over the fragments scattered across the floor, Chen Xiao charged inside.

Alice had already been in despair, but when she suddenly saw Chen Xiao rush in, she could not help staring at him in astonishment.

The two men in top hats saw Chen Xiao as well. The one on the left lowered his hand and remained silent for a moment before speaking coldly.

“It’s you?”

He naturally recognized Chen Xiao from the coffee shop. His expression darkened.

“Is the Service Society trying to interfere in our affairs? This has nothing to do with you. If you don’t want to die, leave immediately!”

Chen Xiao did not give the matter much thought. Phoenix had told him to save someone, and he was naturally willing to help her.

He looked at Alice on the ground.

“Come here quickly! I’m here to save you!”

The expression of the man in the left-hand top hat immediately turned ugly. The man on the right, however, remained completely expressionless. After hearing Chen Xiao’s words, he merely snorted and repeated the same three words:

“Kill them all.”
