Chapter 14: Changing Grounds

No one dared to hit him; they just quietly watched him eat, their eyes filled with greed. Some clenched their fists repeatedly, wanting to rush forward and snatch the prize, but recalling those who had been forcefully thrown back, they gave up the thought. Meanwhile, another person who had scratched off a fruit prize quietly slipped away after redeeming it, taking advantage of everyone's focus on the bananas.
Shen Bing was also scratching his tickets seriously. After finishing the five tickets by his side, he looked up at Lu Li. Due to Shen Bing’s strength and his aloof demeanor that kept others at a distance, everyone avoided him, allowing him to monopolize the best spot—directly in front of Lu Li.
Lu Li gave him an impatient glare. “Aren’t you going to redeem them?”
Shen Bing shook his head. He had about ten more scratch cards piled up at hand, probably waiting to redeem them all at once later.
“Open new ones,” he urged.
Lu Li glanced at the remaining scratch cards on the table: “Chinese Fortune,” “New Year Dragon Luck,” and “Instant Wealth.”
“There are still plenty left, aren’t there?” she said knowingly but with a self-righteous tone.
“Big 7!” Shen Bing looked at her straight on, his delicate brow furrowed with a hint of grievance, like a wronged soul. Such a naughty woman!
“No opening!” Lu Li teased deliberately.
Shen Bing fell silent and quietly moved aside to let others have a chance, until most of those three types of scratch cards were sold out.
Lu Li then took out several new books of scratch tickets. Shen Bing’s eyes lit up immediately, and relying on his strength, he squeezed to the front of the queue.
Those around dared not voice their anger. No matter how strong he was, on Lu Li’s turf, everyone had to follow her rules.
She pointed at Shen Bing, then at the end of the line, saying, “Go queue.”
Shen Bing looked at her in disbelief. No one had ever dared to speak to him with such an order before. Even the base commander of the central base had to show him some respect. This naughty woman was the first.
“No!” Shen Bing tried to argue, but his feet, as if out of control, began to step backward.
Lu Li sneered contemptuously. Arguing with her here was like dealing with a spoiled child. Thinking this, she arranged the newly opened books neatly.
Shen Bing felt an invisible force controlling him, moving him directly to the end of the line. When he tried to step forward, an invisible wall blocked him, and he could only move forward slowly with the pace of the queue.
He crossed his arms, his face hidden under the brim of his hat darkening. He looked up, staring through the crowd at Lu Li.
She smiled brilliantly and purely, brighter than the sun above, her two dimples like clear, sparkling springs.
Shen Bing suddenly withdrew his gaze and scolded himself fiercely in his heart: She’s a bad woman—you’re not allowed to think about her anymore!
As he moved slowly forward with the queue, he finally reached Lu Li’s side. His eyes fell on the table; the Big 7 tickets were almost gone...
The other types were nearly sold out as well, leaving only a few scattered tickets that didn’t inspire any desire to scratch.

At that moment, Lu Li said, “We’re done selling for today.” She began packing up the scratch cards on the table.
Shen Bing became anxious and grabbed her hand. “I’ll buy them all!”
Realizing what he had just done, he awkwardly withdrew his hand and tried to hide it behind his back, as if trying to cover up his impulsiveness.
Lu Li smiled and held out her palm. “Crystal cores.”
Her palm was a healthy pale pink.
Shen Bing looked away and took several yellow crystal cores from his space ring, which were definitely extra, and eagerly placed them in her hand.
Their hands accidentally touched—warm, soft—Shen Bing’s ears flushed red, and he quickly withdrew his hand.
Then, somewhat anxious, he gathered all the remaining scratch cards from the table into his space ring and left without looking back.
Lu Li glanced at him and thought, “Rude little brat.” Then she pulled down the divider.
Happily, she opened the display screen to check her point balance. Oh my! She was stunned—tens of thousands!
Thirty-three thousand plus points!
Ahhhhhh! She was rich!
Lu Li excitedly spun several circles, then picked up the little deer from the ground and tossed her up and caught her precisely.
“Meow meow~” the little deer said, “I’m dizzy...”
Lu Li stopped tossing her, hugged her in her arms, and let her look at the number on the screen.
“See? Your owner has made a fortune. Which cat food do you want? Just say it!” she said generously.
The little deer’s bright eyes sparkled like stars. She stretched out a small paw and expertly swiped across the screen.
Finally, she picked a highly rated cat food from the pet category.
Lu Li decisively placed the order but was prompted: Daily spending limit reached.
Awkward...
She looked at the little deer and comforted her, “It’s okay. I’ll buy it for you just after midnight. You’ll definitely get to eat this cat food tomorrow!”
The little deer proudly shook her head, jumped out of her arms, and walked toward her cat bed.
Although she didn’t say a word, Lu Li felt as if she had been scolded harshly...
Damn system! What’s with these limits? It seems I have to level up to level four quickly!
As the time approached eight o’clock, Lu Li wasn’t very hungry but felt she should eat something to justify the hard work today.
After some calculation, she found she still had several dozen points left, so she carefully chose a fully vegetarian spicy hot pot set...

Well, to be honest, meat still tastes better.
After this experience, Lu Li suddenly really wanted to level up! Isn’t the daily joy in eating and drinking?
But tomorrow she planned to move to a different base—the Newborn Base had been well exploited, time to harvest new fields.
So she navigated overnight, letting the RV drive itself to another base, several times larger than the Newborn Base.
It was called: Hope Base...
Early in the morning, Chen Zhi had already come to queue up, holding zombie crystal cores he had farmed overnight.
He froze on the spot. The place where the RV had been parked was empty, with only a piece of paper firmly stuck to the ground.
Chen Zhi crouched down and felt as if the sky had fallen. On the paper was written: “The mobile lottery shop has moved to Hope Base today.”
A complete notice.
Chen Zhi crouched there, thinking: if life has no scratch cards, what’s the point? Killing zombies is for what?!
Of course, it’s for scratch cards!
More people arrived and stood there staring for a while but saw no RV.
They only saw Chen Zhi’s dumbfounded figure crouching on the ground. They approached and asked, “Where’s the lottery shop? Where’s Boss Lu?”
Before Chen Zhi could answer, they saw the note too and immediately wailed.
“Will the boss come back?”
“What? So no scratch cards today?”
“Then what was my all-night zombie killing for?!”
Chen Zhi suddenly stood up and declared firmly, “I’m going to Hope Base!”
Strangely, no one’s first reaction was, “Are you crazy? That’s so far!”
Instead, they agreed, discussed, and even some with navigation abilities joined in. Nearly a dozen people gathered, all shouting they wanted to go to Hope Base to find the lottery shop!
At that moment, Zhao Haiting arrived, followed by a man completely wrapped in a black cloak, only his chin visible.
