Lu Li held a crisp lettuce leaf in one hand and reached for a piece of pork belly with the other. The sizzling, charred meat, rich with savory aroma, was placed onto the lettuce, wrapped up, and stuffed into her mouth. Juices burst forth, tender and fragrant—an absolute delight.

She then took a sip of her cola and let out a satisfied sigh. “Ah…” Is there anything in the world more pleasurable than this?

Suddenly, she felt a strong, burning gaze fixed upon her, like a spotlight. Lu Li looked up in confusion.

Not far from the camper, less than five meters away, stood Shen Bing in a daze. At last, she could see his true appearance.

He was a finely featured and handsome young man, with a high-bridged nose and deep-set eyes. The brim of his cloak’s hood had been blown down by the wind, revealing soft, sleek hair that made one want to reach out and touch it.

He looked no older than early twenties—an age that should be full of sunshine and vitality—but the apocalypse had left a faint aura of death hanging about him.

Lu Li smiled to herself at the thought and casually asked, “Anything else?” her tone indifferent, as if just making small talk.

Shen Bing took a few steps forward, stopping by the window. After a moment of hesitation, he shook his head. “Nothing.” Yet he didn’t leave, simply standing there.

Lu Li shrugged, paid him no mind, and didn’t bother to pull down the partition. Instead, she continued eating on her own—beef rolls, bacon, grilled sausages, shrimp, chicken wings.

She placed a little of each on the grill to cook slowly, but the lingering gaze persisted, faint yet unmistakable. Unable to bear it any longer, Lu Li glanced over.

She froze upon realization: the gaze wasn’t on her, but on the food laid out on the electric grill. She understood perfectly, but there was no way she would share any.

Rising, Lu Li pulled down the partition and flashed Shen Bing a smile. “Come back this afternoon. The boss needs to eat now.”

Shen Bing found himself shut out, the aroma of the barbecue gradually fading. He cast one long, lingering look before reluctantly walking away.

Inside the camper, Lu Li ate without restraint. She was currently limited to spending just 1,000 points daily in the mall, and this barbecue had cost her 688 points.

What an expensive meal...

Reaching level four required earning 100,000 points, yet she had only amassed less than 30,000 so far—a long road ahead.

Lu Li sighed softly but dismissed her worries. The 1,000-point limit was more than enough; she would just earn a bit each day and enjoy every bite.

Barbecue required patience—slow grilling, slow eating, paired with light drinks. It was nearly two o’clock when Lu Li finally finished, feeling stuffed to the brim. After closing the order, she took a shower and planned to nap.

Her sleep stretched two full hours. Outside, a long line had formed, but Lu Li remained blissfully unaware, turning over comfortably beneath her blanket.

With a sudden thud, something fell off the bed, startling the sleeping Lu Li awake. Her little paws landed on her face as she sprung upright, an irritated meow escaping.

She scooped the small creature into her arms, groggy, and climbed back into bed to lie down for a moment longer. Suddenly, she sat up sharply and glanced at the clock—3:57!

Hurriedly, she got herself ready and, just before four o’clock, pulled open the partition. She didn’t know why but had developed an obsession with punctuality.

The first in line wasn’t Chen Zhi, but Shen Bing, still wearing the same outfit from earlier, cloak hood pulled low to conceal most of his face. He was quite handsome, actually...

Lu Li figured he was probably trying to keep an air of mystery.

She arranged the scratch cards and lucky cat figurines neatly, and everyone stepped forward in an orderly fashion to feed, select, and scratch their tickets. She noticed Shen Bing only scratched the “Big 7” cards.

Could it be that he had both elders and youngsters depending on him, all with enormous appetites, so he needed lots of food to support them?

Pah! Ridiculous!

Lu Li ended her fanciful thoughts and focused on her work.

Some people scratched one or two cards and left, freeing up space for the next. But Shen Bing kept scratching, never redeeming any prizes, just placing the cards beside him.

Lu Li observed to see if anyone else had won food...

By five o’clock, no one had scratched out any food prizes. It seemed the bastard kid had snatched them all!

Complaints had already started.

“Boss, didn’t you say the Big 7 cards always give out food? I rushed over from the neighboring base just for this...”

“Yeah, boss, I scratched three cards in a row, and all I got was ‘Thank you for participating.’ Is that fair?”

“Boss, you’re not running a scam now that business is booming, are you?”

“You can’t do this! You’re the whole reason I’m still alive. Without these scratch cards, I wouldn’t even want to fight zombies anymore!”

Lu Li was stunned by their words. Shen Bing remained unfazed, still scratching his cards.

She hurriedly denied, “Impossible! Let me open a new pack of Big 7 cards for you to try. It’s just bad luck—spit twice to blow it away!”

At her words, Shen Bing immediately looked up, eyes shining as he stared at the freshly opened full pack of Big 7 cards in her hand.

Sensing his gaze, Lu Li glared at him. “What are you staring at? These aren’t for you!”

“...” Humph.

Shen Bing lowered his head, still with five Big 7 cards untouched beside him.

Lu Li placed the new pack on the table, but it was snatched up immediately. Newly opened packs surely had chances to win food!

She’d observed before: a pack contained twenty cards, with roughly a fifty percent chance of winning. But the prizes varied—some useless ear picks, others enviable fruits.

Sure enough, the twenty cards were distributed among seven or eight people, bringing joy to some and disappointment to others.

“Ah! I finally scratched out fruit! Boss, I want to redeem it now!”

“Is that... the legendary banana? Easy to peel, delicious, and doesn’t dirty your hands—a divine fruit?”

“Boss, I got ‘Thank you for participating’ again! Can you open another pack? I can’t take it anymore!”

Lu Li watched their frenzy silently while redeeming prizes.

Those who received rewards were thrilled, eager for the whole world to know, because prizes from Boss Lu’s lottery shop came with a protection mechanism.

No one could snatch them away; anyone with ill intent would suffer consequences. It was better to just watch as a bystander and enjoy the feast from afar.

Thus, dozens of eyes fixed on the person eating the banana, and it wasn’t just one—it was a whole bunch, maybe five or six.

Unfazed, the man stood boldly in the crowd’s center, calmly peeling a banana.

People around gasped, “Hey, be careful, don’t bruise it with your clumsy hands!”

“Yeah, if you don’t know how to eat it, just give it to me—I swear I’ll treat bananas better than you!”

Ignoring the onlookers’ appeals and longing, he slowly peeled back the bright yellow skin to reveal the fragrant, soft flesh inside.

He took tiny bites, savoring each mouthful with the expression of exquisite delight—so much so it made one want to give him a playful smack!
