Chapter Fourteen: I, a Billionaire...

Yang Jie’s body had long since surpassed the limits of ordinary human beings, so naturally he never suffered from illness. Li Siyao and Zhao Baitong were healthy as well and rarely got sick, but they still underwent regular checkups every year, always at places like the Mayo Clinic. A single physical examination could easily cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Donut’s words were ruthlessly rebuffed, and his eyes instantly reddened. The kid had struck him right in the artery with that one sentence!
Once, he had experienced discomfort in his spine and gone to the hospital. When he saw the long line, he found the wait unbearable. Then inspiration struck: he went straight to the emergency room, smugly believing everyone standing in line was an idiot.
In the end, the doctor barely examined him. After asking a few questions and feeling along his spine, the whole visit lasted fifteen minutes at most.
Half a month later, he received a bill for $5,760, which nearly made him spit blood in fury.
Still, there was one advantage: he had nothing anyway, so he could simply refuse to pay. As expected, this place was even more humane than back home.
Donut continued singing the praises of the Beautiful Country, mentioning things such as the free food distributed at shelters. Yang Jie merely remarked, “There are plenty of fleas, plenty of infectious diseases, and the worst part is that a lot of Mexicans and Black people there like to do things the unconventional way.”
That sentence completely shattered Donut’s defenses. Remembering what had happened inside the shelter, he suddenly clenched his buttocks. For some reason, waves of pain kept coming from below.
Donut’s expression turned vicious. After comparing their physiques, he wisely backed down; one glance made it obvious he could not win. Even so, he still issued a threat.
“A bastard like you, with that filthy mouth, is going to end up eating a bullet!”
Before he could react, Yang Jie casually swept out his hand, and a handgun was pressed straight against Donut’s forehead.
Not only Donut, but nearly everyone present was stunned.
To be honest, even if people from the Dragon Nation bought guns, they generally would not carry them around. They came from a country where firearms were strictly prohibited—who would draw a gun at the slightest disagreement?
The corner of Donut’s mouth began twitching, and his entire body trembled.
Then he thought about it. Plenty of people from the Dragon Nation owned guns, but very few truly dared to pull the trigger.
With that thought, Donut immediately grew arrogant again. He pointed at his own head and tapped it.
“If you’ve got the guts, shoot your grandfather! Don’t pull out a gun and then lose your nerve. I—”
Bang!
Donut instantly clutched his thigh and collapsed onto the ground, rolling around in agony. At first the wound had been numb, but after a dozen seconds, the numbness transformed into excruciating pain.
Everyone present stared at Yang Jie in shock, their faces filled with disbelief. Someone had actually dared to fire a gun inside another person’s home? Had he gone insane? This was a residential community, not some gathering place for vagrants in the countryside!
Seeing everyone’s expressions, Yang Jie spread his hands.
“He told me to shoot. I’ve never seen such an outrageous request in my life!”
The portly middle-aged man immediately spoke up.

“Yang Jie, you’d better leave quickly. If the police come knocking, we’ll all be in trouble!”
Several others hurriedly urged him to go, though there were plenty of opposing voices as well.
A gloomy, gaunt man said irritably, “Are you even from the Dragon Nation? You’ve been here for five years, and you still don’t understand something this basic? You’re going to get us all killed!”
Another woman chimed in, “Exactly. I’m this close to getting my green card. Don’t ruin the thing I’ve waited more than ten years for just because of you!”
Among those present were people who genuinely wanted to help Yang Jie, as well as others who blamed him—or even hated him. Big Head took the opportunity to observe them carefully, determining which ones no longer deserved to be contacted.
Yang Jie and Li Siyao, however, remained completely calm. The two of them had traveled far and wide and encountered every kind of scumbag imaginable.
These people’s behavior was nothing more than child’s play when measured against the depths of human nature.
Pointing the handgun at Donut on the floor, Yang Jie smiled.
“I’ll answer your questions one by one.”
“Do I, a billionaire, need to know how much dishwashing pays per month?”
“Do I, a billionaire, need to know when the shelters hand out food?”
“Am I, a billionaire, less familiar with the Beautiful Country than you are?”
“Who the hell do you think you are? You can barely speak English, yet you actually think you understand this country?”
“Do you know what is most useful in the Beautiful Country?”
A cold smile lifted the corners of Yang Jie’s mouth. He shook the gun in his hand.
“Here, the strong prey on the weak. Only the strong survive. You’re either sitting at the dining table or lying on the menu. And you don’t even qualify to appear on the menu. At best, you’re dust in the corner.”
Li Siyao took a sip of rice wine. The gunshot had not worried her in the slightest. She spoke calmly.
“My uncle once told me that ten or twenty years ago, most of the people who came to the Beautiful Country were highly educated. They all came to contribute to its development.”
“But nowadays, the people coming here are all worthless trash. They’re either corrupt officials or deadbeat debtors. Do they really think coming to the Beautiful Country will magically turn their lives around?”
“The greatest thing about the Dragon Nation is that trash like you can use a phone without having to sleep on the streets!”
“But you left the safest country in the world and came to this place where the strong prey on the weak. Are you out of your mind?”
Yang Jie crouched down and repeatedly slapped Donut’s face with the handgun.

Donut had never imagined that Yang Jie could be so insane. Could he really be a billionaire?
“Even if you really are a billionaire, so what? The Beautiful Country is a nation governed by law! I’ll make you pay until you’re bankrupt for this shooting! Ah! It hurts like hell!”
Just then, someone knocked on the main door. Big Head immediately ran over to open it. A few minutes later, two police officers entered without a search warrant.
The Castle Doctrine in the West says that wind may enter, rain may enter, but the king may not enter.
Clearly, police officers were not kings, so they could naturally come in. If you tried to stop them, you were welcome to see how quickly they could add two pounds to your weight.
When the two officers approached Yang Jie, everyone around them underwent a dramatic change of expression.
The few livestreamers who had been making sarcastic remarks nearby wished they could bury their heads in the ground.
After all, they had spent years applying for green cards. They absolutely could not afford to be dragged down by this lunatic. As for whether Yang Jie was truly a billionaire, they did not believe any billionaire would shoot someone.
Others were terrified that the two sides might exchange fire. Yang Jie was still holding the gun and tapping it against Donut’s face.
“We’re finished. The police saw everything!”
“Who invited Donut? He’s always causing trouble!”
“That guy is a complete race-traitor. We should have stayed away from him! Nobody even invited him, yet he had the nerve to show up!”
“I heard he got assaulted by some Mexicans on the way here, and that’s when he lost his mind!”
“Seriously?”
“How could it be fake? I heard it wasn’t just one of them!”
“Poor Yang Jie. He’s probably finished too!”
“I think he’s a con artist. And he actually fired a gun like an idiot. Does he really think you can shoot people freely in the Beautiful Country?”
“Donut counts as a fellow countryman? He’s nothing but a virtual pet! If I weren’t worried about breaking the law, I would have beaten him up ages ago!”
Just as everyone was growing frantic with anxiety, they were astonished to discover that the two police officers were greeting Yang Jie with remarkable courtesy.
