By that moment, the man had already lunged to within less than three meters of me. His armor gave off an inky black gleam as he charged forward with a trail of dark light behind him. But just then, an ogre warrior happened to run right between us and threw its own body in the way, blocking his advance.

The man swept his blade without missing a beat, and that unfortunate ogre warrior was split clean in two from top to bottom, toppling over onto the ground.

"I'll fuck your grandma... goddamn it, you dared to sneak up on me! I'll make you pay with your life!" The man's curses rang out, followed immediately by a sharp *clang* as the Ruyi Staff and that Sword of the Earth collided heavily against each other.

The sheer force of the impact blasted both of them back.

"You mongrel! The one thing I hate most is people sneaking up on me. You dare to ambush me? I'll blast every last piece of you to bits!" He steadied himself, brandishing both weapons, and shouted at the top of his lungs.

I also regained my footing and said, "You stubborn bastard, that was just an accident! And I already apologized. Why are you being such a prick about it?"

The man replied, "This is just how I am, so what? I don't give a damn about your apology. All I want is to chop you up and explode your equipment. What are you gonna do about it? Hahaha..." As he spoke, he burst into wild laughter.

"Are you that thick-headed? It's just a misunderstanding, no need to take it so seriously, is there?" I continued.

"Hmph! You son of a bitch! I don't reason with scum like you. All I know is violence solves everything! You got that, you little bastard? Hahaha!" The other man sneered.

I slammed the Ruyi Staff heavily into the ground and said, "Hey, watch your mouth. Stop calling me 'bastard' left and right, alright?"

The man laughed. "Not happy? Then come and hit me if you're not happy! Haha, you little bastard, hmph!"

I immediately shot back, "I really want to know what the hell you're like in the real world. With a face like yours, you're probably nothing but a thug or a hooligan. You people can't say a single decent thing if your life depended on it—scum of the earth, the dregs of society!"

The man retorted instantly, "The fuck are you calling scum?"

I said, "Whoever answers me, that's who I'm calling scum, idiot." And with that, I even made a face at him.

And so the two of us launched into a full-on war of words until the system muted us both.

Meanwhile, Amaterasu was swinging her blade left and right, gutting one ogre warrior after another as they dropped dead to the ground. The others were also slaughtering monsters like mad. The two groups looked like they were having a competition, neither willing to yield to the other.

Soon enough, all the remaining monsters had collapsed to the ground, converted into experience for everyone. After being muted for a long while, we finally got our voices back. The man coughed a couple of times, then said, "Goddamn little bastard!" Following that, he let out a sinister grin. But just at that moment—BOOM!—a thunderous crash from above. The ceiling suddenly blasted open into a massive hole, and a colossal creature dropped down.

Everyone quickly got a clear look at this sudden behemoth. It stood nearly five meters tall, its appearance still that ugly ogre shape, but its entire body was clad in heavy armor. In each hand it held a spiked club, and it kept opening its huge maw to roar ferociously. Inside its mouth, two rows of fang-like teeth were a horrifying sight.

"Damned intruders! How dare you disturb my lord's rest! You all deserve to die!" That ugly mouth spoke, and the spiked club in its left hand came smashing down.

*CRASH!* The floor was shattered into a huge crater, and the resulting shockwave blasted everyone back. Then the creature charged toward that foul-mouthed player, swinging its club down once more. Several people scrambled to dodge, but the mage among them was a moment too slow—his whole body was flattened into a pulp.

Ogre General, level 50 boss. Description: The grand general of the ogre race. Boasts incomparably powerful attack and possesses a certain degree of intelligence. He is the intellectual among the ogre legions.

Well, damn. So this was a monster with brains after all. Looked like this battle was going to be a tough one. After taking out one player, the Ogre General brought the blood-soaked club to his mouth, extended a big red tongue from his gaping maw, and licked it a few times. "Not bad. It's been a long time since I've tasted fresh human blood. Heh heh. Today, you're all going to die! I'll offer your flesh and blood to my lord, Kshatri!" The Ogre General let out a thunderous roar, spread both arms wide, and slammed them into the ground. Immediately, two shockwaves erupted from his body, shooting toward both groups of people.

The shockwaves closed in on everyone. The boss's killer move—clearly not something mortal strength could withstand. Feng Xiao Yue let out a sharp cry: "Everyone, dodge!" The others scattered in all directions.

But then another shockwave appeared. "Ahhh—!" Xiao Ai let out a blood-curdling scream. She was too slow to dodge, and the incoming shockwave struck her. Her fused form was instantly shredded—though in the nick of time, she canceled the fusion and saved herself. But her summon beast's HP dropped to zero, and it vanished into thin air.

"Hahaha!" The boss roared with wild laughter, striding forward, each step thundering across the vast space. Wave after wave of shockwaves shot out. On the other side, another archer player suddenly let out a miserable shriek as he was shredded by a shockwave. His broken body collapsed to the ground, then turned into a flash of white light.

A magic teleport scroll—clearly, he knew things were going badly. If he didn't flee now, he'd die right here.

"Ahhh—!" Feng Xiao Yue was next. A shockwave grazed past her, and her entire left arm vanished, her body sent tumbling across the ground.

The same shockwave came surging toward me. I immediately activated "Feint." The next moment, the shockwave slammed into my shield. Two thousand five hundred points of durability dropped by half in an instant. One more hit and the shield would be done for.

Ye Shuang and Xiao Xi, along with another swordsman player, charged at the boss together. Without a word, the boss swept both spiked clubs in an arc. Ye Shuang, Xiao Xi, and that swordsman all scrambled to dodge, but one of them—the swordsman—was caught instantly and smashed into a flash of white light without even a scream.

The three survivors attacked the boss from three sides. The boss endured their assault, losing a chunk of HP, then swung its clubs again to send them scattering. But the three weren't about to back down—they charged right back. Ye Shuang and the swordsman hit the boss's upper body while Xiao Xi attacked the lower body. The boss swung its left club, sending the two upper attackers flying. Xiao Xi sensed the danger and tried to leap back, but it was already too late. The other club came down on him—3,210 damage popped up.

As an archer, Xiao Xi barely had any HP to begin with. One hit drained every last bit of his health. A white light rose up—but then the boss suddenly brought its club down again, smashing his body into a bloody pulp. Poor Xiao Xi was dead, and the boss was even mutilating his corpse.

I was about to charge at the boss myself when, all of a sudden, the remaining 2,500 durability on my shield dropped by 1,600 points. Before I could even react, another hit slammed into the shield, shattering it completely.

Then I saw that bastard—he chose that exact moment to attack me. I couldn't dodge in time and took a hit, losing 2,100 HP. I immediately leaped back to take a potion while shouting, "Amaterasu, Sonic Werewolf, take down the boss! Long Xin, you guys focus on the boss—I'll deal with this moron!"

"Got it, big brother!" Long Xin replied, then opened fire with everything she had on the boss. With them keeping the boss occupied, I charged straight at that player, and the two of us clashed in combat.

*Gahh!* Ye Shuang and the swordsman both spat out great gushes of blood at the same time, then were smashed by the boss's club and sent flying across the ground. Ye Shuang's HP bottomed out, while that other player was killed outright.

When the boss saw that one whole group had been nearly wiped out, it turned and advanced toward our side. A few people went up to trade blows with it, but Xiao Ai, who had narrowly escaped death before, wasn't so lucky this time. The boss's club smashed her straight back to the city. Sonic Werewolf let out a furious roar and lunged forward, dealing considerable damage to the boss before being pummeled by its clubs into a mess of broken bones and mangled flesh—even its head was sent rolling away. It returned to my summon beast space to slumber.

Now, aside from Amaterasu and Long Xin who could still fight, the gravely wounded Ye Shuang had basically lost all combat capability, and Feng Xiao Yue was barely holding on.

On my end, the fight was fierce as well—neither side willing to yield. The battle on both fronts had reached a boiling point.
