Chapter 11: Little Yan Leaps into the River to Escape, Kurozawa Challenges Li Yishu to a Duel

Li Yishu kept a quiet watch over the "underworld" spawn point.

At this moment, Heize and Xiaoxiaoyan had gathered in the Dark Room.

"Officer," Xiaoxiaoyan said, "we have six minutes left. I think we should pull the lever for the centrifuge, clear out the Rat Tunnel, and then kill that shield-wielding dog, Feifei, before extracting!"

"Agreed!" Heize replied. "And don't bother checking the stream for his exact location!"

"Understood!" Xiaoxiaoyan nodded. "Even with our eyes closed, we could drag that shield-dog out, steam him, braise him, boil him, or poach him. I’m going to strip him of every bit of good loot he has. I won't even spare his dog tags—I’ll lick his very underwear clean!"

"Oh?" Heize laughed. "Are we being serious this time?"

"Absolutely!" Xiaoxiaoyan declared. "Once he's looted, we'll toss his crate into the river and make sure he has no place to be buried!"

"Fine, I’m with you," said Heize.

"Charge!" Xiaoxiaoyan roared. He immediately exited the Dark Room, sprinted through the garden, and entered the Rat Tunnel.

They crept all the way to the Centrifuge Room. Heize went to the second floor to scout, while Xiaoxiaoyan pulled the lever on the first floor.

"Helicopter extraction point activated!" the system prompt announced.

"Officer, charge with me!" Xiaoxiaoyan yelled, rushing out of the Centrifuge Room first, with Heize following close behind.

The two reached the extraction point. Heize used a zipline to reach the bridge before crawling through a window into the "dog hole," while Xiaoxiaoyan entered the dog hole from beneath the bridge.

"Little Shield Dog, stop hiding! Big Brother Heize is really here!"

The two scoured their way out of the dog hole, but there was no sign of the shield-wielding player.

"Officer, wait a moment. My ultimate is almost ready!" Xiaoxiaoyan said.

"Good!" Heize nodded. He fired a Tiger-Crouching Cannon shot into the central garden, then used a jet-pack boost to reach the garden himself, scanning for any traces of their target.

Xiaoxiaoyan, meanwhile, searched through the bushes at the extraction point.

"Officer, nothing here!"

"Nothing on my end either!" Heize replied.

"The Water Room!" Xiaoxiaoyan said excitedly. "He’s definitely hiding in the Water Room!"

With a jet-pack boost, Heize lunged toward the Dark Room’s Water Room. By now, Xiaoxiaoyan’s ultimate was ready.

"Officer, I’m firing it!" Xiaoxiaoyan shouted.

"Do it!" Heize responded loudly.

"Sonic Shockwave!"

As the ultimate activated, Xiaoxiaoyan heard the sound of shattering glass.

"I hit him, Officer!" Xiaoxiaoyan roared.

"I’m entering the Water Room!" Heize yelled, treading across the pipes above to clear the area.

But even after Heize exited the Water Room, there was no sign of the shield-wielder.

"He's not in the Water Room!"

"Officer," Xiaoxiaoyan said, "that shield-dog must be either in the riverside Rat Tunnel or on the bridge!"

As he spoke, Xiaoxiaoyan maneuvered his operator directly into the riverside Rat Tunnel. "Nobody here, Officer."

"Wait, no—there he is! The shield-dog is lying right there, his head is peeking out..."

Heize said, "Brother, don't rush. I’m coming over!"

Before Xiaoxiaoyan could answer, Li Yishu, lying by the iron railing, fired his grappling hook.

"Hooked!"

Xiaoxiaoyan was yanked directly into the river and perished on the spot.

"Ah..."

"Officer..."

"I'm gone! I'm actually gone!"

Heize, who had just run out of the Water Room, stopped in his tracks, completely dumbfounded.

"Xiaoxiaoyan, what just happened?"

Xiaoxiaoyan screamed, "You animal! You absolute animal!"

"What exactly is going on?"

Heize injected himself with a physical activation stimulant and observed the direction of the riverside Rat Tunnel.

Meanwhile, the live chat was exploding.

Guangzhi: *LMAO, Xiaoxiaoyan talked all that big talk about throwing Yishu's crate into the river, only to fall in and become a crate himself!*

Heize glanced at the chat: "Xiaoxiaoyan was eager to clock out and just jumped into the water?"

Xiaoxiaoyan wailed, "Officer, I’ve been wronged! It was that shield-dog! He hooked me into the river—I didn't even get a single shot off!"

"What? Holy crap!" Heize was shocked. "You can play like that?"

"Officer, save me! Quickly, save me!" Xiaoxiaoyan howled in the stream.

"How am I supposed to save you? I can't!" Heize replied.

Fans in the chat started suggesting crazy ideas.

Stinky Rat: *Officer, send a secret signal! Tell the shield-dog to pull Xiaoxiaoyan back up!*

Death to Devs: *Yeah, yeah! Signal a surrender and offer him a smoothbore gun and rocket fuel as tribute!*

Mighty Rat: *An officer knows how to bend and stretch; it's fine to signal for the sake of your brother!*

Seeing the comments, Heize became furious. "Signal? I, the Warden of the Heavens, do not signal! Just wait, Xiaoxiaoyan, I’m coming to save you!"

Heize jumped onto the outer piping, aiming his M14 toward the Rat Tunnel.

Li Yishu, having just hooked Xiaoxiaoyan into the water, had already deployed his shield before Heize could arrive. He stood inside the Rat Tunnel, waiting.

Heize saw Li Yishu through his scope.

*Rat-tat-tat!*

Heize poured fire from his M14.

Li Yishu frantically shook his shield while strafing left and right. Not a single bullet landed.

Heize knew this wasn't working. The riverside Rat Tunnel was too narrow, and his ultimate wasn't ready. If he rushed in now, he would surely die.

Heize jumped off the pipes and tossed a C4 at the entrance of the Rat Tunnel. Then, with a jet-pack boost, he ran under the bridge.

To beat a shield-wielder, you have to create distance—ideally, getting behind them. Clearly, Heize intended to climb the bridge and attack from above.

However, Li Yishu realized this instantly.

"Brothers, Heize’s footsteps are on the left. He’s definitely going to climb the bridge to attack me. I can’t stay in this tunnel; I have to get out!"

With that, Li Yishu steered his operator and bolted from the riverside Rat Tunnel.
