Ye Zihan couldn’t help but scrutinize the woman named Su Zi more closely, not because she was particularly beautiful, but because she appeared to be about the same age as him and had already reached the ** realm, just like him.

Although he had many hidden trump cards, making it difficult for an ordinary Seven-Star realm expert to pose a real threat to him, this young woman’s attainment of the ** realm at such an age suggested she must also possess powerful secrets. No fool would believe otherwise.

The presence of such a woman here strongly hinted that she might be vying for control over Nameless City. If that was the case, Ye Zihan naturally had to be more cautious and alert.

“Miss Su Zi, may I ask what brings you all to this frozen world a thousand miles away?” Knowing these people could become rivals in his bid for Nameless City, Ye Zihan decided to probe cautiously. As the saying goes, know your enemy, know yourself, and you will win every battle. While he couldn’t claim to know everything, at least he wanted some understanding.

A silvery laugh like a bell rang from Su Zi as she looked at Ye Zihan. “Young Master Ye, aren’t you asking a question you already know the answer to? Since you have appeared here, we naturally can too. In other words, Young Master Ye, your goal is actually the same as ours.”

“Yan Chen, have you figured out this woman’s background yet?” Ye Zihan moved closer toward Yan Chen and asked softly.

Yan Chen didn’t answer immediately but lowered his head in thought. Finally, he lifted his head with a serious expression. “This young woman is remarkably gifted and powerful for her age. Moreover, her name matches that of the person from the Four Sects. It is highly likely she is the young mistress of the most mysterious among them—the Misty Rain Pavilion!”

Hearing this, Ye Zihan, Chen Yiyan, and Lin Dong couldn’t hide the change in their expressions.

The Nine Clans of the mortal realm were known to all cultivators in Illusion God Continent, but among the Four Sects, Misty Rain Pavilion was the most enigmatic.

Few knew the location of its headquarters, and its disciples rarely appeared publicly. On the surface, the Misty Rain Pavilion seemed a sect indifferent to worldly affairs, but upon closer investigation, one would find their influence cast over many major events across the continent.

That was the Misty Rain Pavilion—low-key was their hallmark, but their subtlety concealed a terrifying power that no one could underestimate. They were a force capable of rising from obscurity to prominence at any moment.

“That’s not it. Nameless City belongs to those with fate and strength. You are clearly clever and among the young generation’s elite. If you didn’t come to claim it, what kind of Nameless City would that be?” Upon learning her identity and backing, Ye Zihan spoke carefully.

Though the Misty Rain Pavilion never openly displayed their power, if they lacked real ability, how could they survive among all the forces of Illusion God Continent?

“Indeed! Your words please me far more than those behind you, who are weak yet so boastful!” Su Zi smiled brightly, clearly satisfied with Ye Zihan’s words, then disdainfully pointed at Yan Chen and the other three behind him.

“Hmph! To be polite to you is already overstepping!” Chen Yiyan snorted coldly, obviously displeased by Su Zi’s tone.

Yan Chen and Lin Dong were equally furious. Though they recognized Su Zi’s strength and her faction’s power, their own status was no less lofty. Each of them had backing so formidable that a mere stomp from their faction could shake the entire Illusion God Continent.

Living under such powerful clans, they were prideful youths. If you touched that pride deep inside their hearts, it was intolerable. Even if Su Zi was the low-profile but mysterious young mistress of Misty Rain Pavilion and a ** realm powerhouse, that was unacceptable!

True men who stand tall and upright could not allow anyone to sully their dignity or pride!

Ye Zihan’s expression also turned icy. Others might insult him and he could tolerate it, but no one was allowed to insult his brothers before him—that was unforgivable.

“Miss, please show some respect. These are my brothers!” Ye Zihan’s voice was deliberate and heavy. Everyone present knew that if Su Zi dared to insult Yan Chen and the others again, Ye Zihan would not hesitate to personally confront this young ** realm master from Misty Rain Pavilion.

“Some spirit at least. Unlike those cowards who hide behind the guise of gentlemen while doing shameful things. But if I say your strength is low, it’s not an exaggeration. Among you, only you have caught my eye a little.” Su Zi’s face displayed a proud smile. Known as a prodigy since youth, she was confident and proud of her own power.

“Oh? Is that so?” Yan Chen stepped forward from behind Ye Zihan. Among them, his pride was the most unyielding. Though he knew Su Zi was formidable, his innate arrogance would not allow him to bow his head. “Then I shall ask Miss Su Zi to enlighten me further!”

With that, Yan Chen twisted his wrist. A dazzling sword flower blossomed from his Qingfeng longsword. It emitted a clear chime as it pointed directly at Su Zi hovering in the air.

“One of the three great hidden clans—the Yan family’s eldest son, Yan Chen. His reputation is well known in the sect, and his strength is formidable.” Su Zi’s expression remained unchanged by Yan Chen’s move. Instead, she casually revealed his background, then smiled ambiguously. “However, that is others’ opinion, not mine!”

“Arrogant!”

“Clear Wind Chant!”

Yan Chen’s face darkened, a flush rising as his longsword emitted a crisp ring. His figure transformed into a streak of azure light that shot toward Su Zi.

If Su Zi had plainly said Yan Chen was no match for her, he might have accepted it gracefully. But her words were an outright insult. He could acknowledge and respect stronger opponents, but never insults!

Ye Zihan did not intervene. He knew Yan Chen’s strength was inferior to Su Zi’s, but if he stopped Yan Chen, it would mean forcing him to silently endure her insult. As Yan Chen’s brother, Ye Zihan refused to allow that!

He clenched the red lotus dagger tightly, quietly gathering strength to respond swiftly to any sudden turn, ready to rescue Yan Chen.

Chen Yiyan and Lin Dong were the same. Opposite them, Su Zi’s guards assumed battle stances, ready to strike. The tension on the icy plain tightened instantly, dropping the already frigid air by a few degrees.

Yan Chen’s formidable strike came, yet Su Zi remained calm, hovering motionless.

When the blue sword light came within an inch of her snow-white jade neck, she suddenly pinched the blade with two fingers as swift as lightning.

Without a sound, Su Zi’s delicate fingers locked the Qingfeng longsword in place, stopping it just an inch from her throat. Despite Yan Chen’s full strength, the sword could only emit mournful cries but could not move an inch!

“I have no intention to harm you,” Su Zi said lightly.

Su Zi smiled faintly, a pale blue light flashing in her hand. She bent her fingers slightly and gently flicked Yan Chen’s longsword.

Suddenly, Yan Chen felt a tremendous force surge through the sword, striking his arm. His arm went numb, and the impact sent his body flying backward, rolling several times before he steadied himself on the ground.

“You!” Yan Chen glared furiously at Su Zi, trembling his sword as he prepared to charge again.

Unexpectedly, a burly figure moved faster than him, rushing straight at Su Zi.

“What strength! Take my axe!” Before the man reached her, two massive axes came down toward Su Zi. The attacker was none other than Chen Yiyan, who had been barely containing his impatience beside them.

Though he lacked Yan Chen’s overwhelming pride, Chen Yiyan had a warrior’s spirit unmatched by Yan Chen. Seeing Su Zi easily deflect Yan Chen’s full strike and counterattack, Chen Yiyan knew she was a genuine powerhouse. Not one to pass up a fight, he raised his axes and charged.

Su Zi’s composed demeanor faded as Chen Yiyan’s axes bore down. Her face turned serious but showed no panic. She lightly tapped her ten fingers, blue light flashing as a blue figure appeared, blocking Chen Yiyan’s attack.

Looking closely, the blue figure was a strange creature with blue bubbles rising from its head, clad in shimmering blue scales. It held a cold iron steel fork, its hollow eyes emotionless as it faced Chen Yiyan’s powerful strike.

“Furious Sea Spirit, Raging Waves!” Su Zi shouted sharply as the creature came forth.

As Su Zi’s command fell, blue light sparkled in the creature’s empty eyes. It raised its strong arms, wielding the steel fork with a fierce swing. Blue waves surged with the weapon’s motion, accompanied by the roaring fury of the sea, rushing toward Chen Yiyan.

Feeling the oppressive force radiating from the creature’s attack, Chen Yiyan did not retreat. His eyes burned with fiery determination. With a roar, he spun his body as intense heat erupted from his twin axes. Two blazing flames shot upward, transforming into a faint but majestic Phoenix of Heaven fire shadow, charging straight at the blue creature’s assault!

“Puf!”

The two mighty forces collided, but no earth-shattering explosion followed—only the sound of water sizzling on hot steel.

In midair, a vague fiery Phoenix resembling a celestial phoenix stood proudly amid the raging sea waves. Despite the turbulent waters, it remained unmoved, turning surrounding water into wisps of white mist rising into the sky.

“Burning Heavenly Phoenix, Blue Shadow Slash!” Mo You, who had somehow awakened unnoticed, exclaimed in surprise upon witnessing the airborne battle!
