Ignoring the woman, Yun Mojiu took the handkerchief, spread it out with one hand, and traced a charm in the air with the other. Then, lifting her foot, she swiftly walked toward the road on the right side of the hospital.

“Let’s go, let’s follow and see what happens.”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

A few idle onlookers, driven by curiosity, followed after her. But they soon discovered, to their astonishment, that even when they broke into a run, they couldn't keep up with Yun Mojiu! She appeared to be walking at a measured, unhurried pace—so how was she moving so quickly?

Panting, they had chased her for two streets and turned into a narrow alley when they saw two men and an older woman lying wretchedly on the ground. Yun Mojiu, calm and composed, was holding an unconscious child in her arms.

“She actually found them! Incredible!”

One of them exclaimed in disbelief.

But soon, someone realized something was amiss.

“Wait, no, I remember that the missing child was a girl, but she’s holding a boy.”

“Tch, I knew it was impossible to really find the kid. Honestly, if you could find missing people with just a handkerchief, the world wouldn't have so many disappearances. The police would be out of a job,” someone muttered.

“Exactly, she’s a fraud,” another chimed in.

Now, the way they looked at Yun Mojiu was markedly different.

“Is she going back?”

“Let’s follow her and see how she explains this!”

“Right, and if she tries to pull anything, the police are here—we’ll report her for fraud!”

So they trailed after Yun Mojiu as she returned.

By now, the police had arrived. Some officers were in the hospital’s surveillance room reviewing footage, others were canvassing the area, and two were questioning Qin Meng.

Qin Meng’s eyes were red from crying. When she looked up and saw Yun Mojiu approaching, she immediately became agitated and ran over.

The two officers, the woman from earlier, and several bystanders followed.

“Is this...?”

As she drew near, Qin Meng realized the child Yun Mojiu was holding was dressed completely differently from her daughter. She halted, anxiety rising in her heart.

“This is your daughter,” Yun Mojiu said evenly.

“Nonsense! That’s obviously a boy!”

The woman from before immediately retorted.

“I said she was a fraud. The young lady said her daughter was missing—she was wearing a princess dress. But the child she’s holding is clearly a little boy!”

The crowd murmured in agreement, their gazes echoing the woman’s skepticism.

“Where did this child come from, then? Could she have stolen him?”

“My goodness, the police are right here and she dares!”

Yun Mojiu paid their suspicions no heed. She stepped forward, stopping before Qin Meng.

Earlier, because of the angle, the child’s face had been pressed against Yun Mojiu and Qin Meng hadn’t seen clearly. Now, up close, she finally got a good look—and instantly, tears poured down her face.

It was the overwhelming relief and joy of her child’s return.

“Yiyi!”

She hurriedly took the child from Yun Mojiu’s arms.

At her reaction, the onlookers were stunned.

Wait—what was happening? Could this really be her daughter? But the appearance was nothing like she’d described!

“Young lady, is this really your daughter?” the older woman voiced what everyone was thinking.

Qin Meng stroked her daughter’s pale cheek tenderly. “Yes, this is my Yiyi.”

With her answer, the crowd’s gaze toward Yun Mojiu changed instantly.

“She actually did it!”

“Who is she, anyway? She really found the child with just a handkerchief!”

“This is incredible! Am I living in some kind of fantastical new world?”

“Can someone explain what’s going on?”

Those who were in the dark asked eagerly, while those in the know recounted the story with animated excitement. Even the two officers glanced curiously at Yun Mojiu.

Yun Mojiu stepped forward.

“The traffickers are in the alley not far from here. When I arrived, they had just cut the child’s hair and changed her clothes. If you go now, you’ll catch them.”

She had used a binding charm—those three wouldn't be able to run.

After a brief explanation, she pointed to a young man who had followed her earlier.

“He knows the way. Go with him.”

This was the same young man who had been the most skeptical of her. Now, after running back and forth, he was left breathless and speechless.

Revenge! This was blatant revenge!

The child had a heart condition and was still unconscious, her situation urgent. After thanking Yun Mojiu, Qin Meng hurried her daughter into the hospital.

After giving her statement, Yun Mojiu, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, hailed a cab and quickly left.

As soon as she got in, her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and answered.

“Xiao Jiu, are you alright? Which hospital are you at? We’ll come right now.”

As soon as the call connected, a voice full of worry came through, followed by two more anxious voices.

“Silly child, why did you act so rashly? If anything happened to you, how could I go on?”

“Sis, did Xie Jingling bully you? I’ll go teach him a lesson right now!”

Hearing these long-missed voices, Yun Mojiu’s eyes grew moist.

Only after being orphaned in another world did she realize how happy she had once been.

Though she wasn’t her parents’ biological daughter, they had never treated her like the wicked foster parents in TV dramas or novels, abusing or neglecting her, favoring their own child. Instead, they treated her and her sister equally, raising them both with loving care, giving her everything her sister had, doting on her like a princess.

Her sister, too, was nothing like those fictional rivals who would scheme and backstab for affection. She truly treated Yun Mojiu as her real sister—clingy and affectionate, and if Yun Mojiu was ever bullied, she was the first to leap to her defense.

Her greatest regret was the fight she’d had with her family over marrying Xie Jingling.

Her parents had seen that he wasn’t a good man and refused to let her marry him. But she’d been blinded by love and insisted. Her mother had fallen ill from worry, but in the end, they relented for her sake.

But in the end, Xie Jingling had proved them right, and Yun Mojiu lost everything.

Looking back now, she wished she could slap her former self for hurting her family over a man who wasn’t worth it.

That was why, after waking up, she hadn’t called them—too ashamed, too regretful, not knowing how to start.

Now, hearing the concern in their voices, she could no longer hold back her tears. Silently, they slipped down her cheeks.

“Dad, Mom, Sis... I miss home.”

Her choked voice trembled from her throat.
