Someone as handsome as you is not allowed to have a nickname.
"Aipah, are you alright?"
Sano Manjiro looked at the people lying on the ground wearing the Toman special attack uniforms, his face gloomy as he shouted loudly toward Aipah, who was the only one sitting.
"Mikey!"
Aipah raised his head to look at Hojo Kyosuke, and seeing that he had no reaction whatsoever, he quickly stood up and ran toward the main group.
"How are you holding up?"
Sano Manjiro patted Aipah on the shoulder, his expression unsightly, and asked with a smile. Seeing that his subordinate was not seriously injured, his mood improved slightly.
"Mikey, that guy took down everyone in our Third Division all by himself..."
"Alright, Aipah, go take a rest first. Leave the rest to me." Sano Manjiro smiled, cutting Aipah off.
"But, Mikey, that guy is really strong..."
"That's enough, go rest, Aipah." Although Sano Manjiro was still smiling, his tone grew heavier.
"Aipah, say no more." A tall blonde-braided man pulled Aipah back a bit.
"Draken..." Aipah did not dare to speak further and retreated with a worried expression on his face.
"Thank you for looking after my subordinate."
Sano Manjiro walked forward alone and said to Hojo Kyosuke.
"Likewise, thank you for looking after my classmate, too," Hojo Kyosuke said lazily.
"No matter what my subordinates did, you had no right to punish them for me. Tell me, who are you? Showing up here like this, you must be a delinquent too."
Sano Manjiro crossed his arms over his chest and said imposingly.
*Such damn elegance, how am I supposed to smoothly flex like that? Where is Kisaki that guy? Isn't this the exact moment a lackey is supposed to announce the boss's name and title? What's the deal with letting the boss introduce himself?*
While Hojo Kyosuke's mind was wandering, Kisaki Tetta indeed stepped forward. In fact, he had been walking over ever since he saw the main Toman force arrive. With the opponents having so many people, he couldn't let his boss lose his imposing aura.
Hanagaki Takemichi and the others also stood at the back with trembling legs, putting on a loyal, protector-of-the-master facade.
"Sano Manjiro, is this how you treat your senior?" Kisaki Tetta used the tongue-clicking technique he had practiced bitterly for a long time.
"Senior?" Sano Manjiro tilted his head and looked at Kisaki Tetta, who had spoken. That tall, handsome guy holding a wooden sword aside, fine, but aren't you a shorty just as tall as me?
"Standing right before you is—" Saying this, Kisaki Tetta paused, stood at attention, took a deep breath, and shouted at the top of his lungs with all his might:
"The master of the Black Dragons, the Handless Demon, Hojo Kyosuke!"
*How mortifying,* Hojo Kyosuke took back his previous thought of wanting a lackey to hype him up. Dying of cringe internally and wanting to scrape his feet against the floor, he could only maintain his previous lazy expression.
Hearing Kisaki Tetta's words, Sano Manjiro had yet to react, but the Toman members instantly erupted into an uproar.
"What?"
"The Handless Demon? Legend has it that anyone who fights him cannot use chopsticks for at least two days!"
*Hey, hey, I heard that.* Hojo Kyosuke rolled his eyes internally.
"He single-handedly wiped out all members of the Black Dragons to become the second-generation leader, and then single-handedly wiped out Moebius in Shinjuku. He's called the most vicious and brutal delinquent of the new generation."
...
Listening to his subordinates, Sano Manjiro raised his chin slightly and looked at Hojo Kyosuke.
"The second-generation leader of the Black Dragons? Then I suppose you can indeed be considered a senior."
"Ah, yes."
"I am the president of Toman, Sano Manjiro. As a senior, shouldn't you introduce yourself?"
"The president of the Black Dragons, Hojo Kyosuke."
"So, is this a declaration of war by the Black Dragons against Toman?"
"A declaration of war? I'm not sure if this should even be called a war."
Hojo Kyosuke remained as lazy as ever. It was getting dark, and his stomach was rumbling; he was dying to go grab a late-night snack.
"What do you mean by that?"
Sano Manjiro frowned. Although he didn't quite understand what the other party meant, he could feel the utter disdain behind it.
"The word 'war' only applies to evenly matched forces. And you people, Toman?"
At this, Hojo Kyosuke let out a couple of chuckles, the implication needing no further explanation.
"Bastard! So what if you're from the Black Dragons?"
"This is Shibuya, Prez. Teach him a lesson!"
The mood-makers took the stage once again, and the Toman members with "Captain" written on their backs could no longer hold back from charging forward.
"Heh, then let me see what qualifications the second-generation leader of the Black Dragons has to talk like that." Sano Manjiro's gaze sharpened.
"1v1? I advise you to tell the guys in the back to all come at once; I don't have time to play around with you kids anymore."
Hojo Kyosuke was truly sick of this game of beating one person only for another to take their place.
"I hope you can still talk after this."
With those words, Sano Manjiro charged directly at Hojo Kyosuke, the special attack uniform draped over his shoulders dropping to the ground.
"Kisaki, you guys fall back."
Faced with the fiercely charging Sano Manjiro, Hojo Kyosuke held his wooden sword in one hand and executed a casual downward slash. With his current strength, even just a normal strike like this was enough to be considered a finishing move for an average person.
Sano Manjiro's momentum faltered, forcing him to stop and raise his arms to block Hojo Kyosuke's wooden sword.
*So painful.*
Sano Manjiro braced his right hand against his left arm, barely managing to block the blow.
*I have to get close to him!*
Facing Hojo Kyosuke, who had the advantage of height, long reach, and a wooden sword, Sano Manjiro would need his legs to grow three times longer to strike back.
This was precisely why Hojo Kyosuke stuck to kendo even after acquiring a powerful physique. For one, it maximized his combat potential, and for another, wielding a weapon provided unique advantages that bare hands simply didn't have. He wasn't some legendary master whose skin was impervious to blades. Therefore, avoiding direct physical contact was always best.
Next, the Toman members were treated to a display of the art of kendo.
No matter how Sano Manjiro changed directions or how fierce his charge was, he was always met with a frontal strike that forced him to retreat once again.
The wooden sword in Hojo Kyosuke's hand danced into an impenetrable wheel, watertight and seamless.
*This is too fun. Is this the nuclear-kick guy? Truly full of mobility.*
Stepping back, pivoting, and delivering another downward slash to beat Sano Manjiro back, Hojo Kyosuke felt quite satisfied. Where else could he find such a great sparring partner? After this, he should be able to unlock another portion of his talent.
The two of them played a game akin to a hawk catching chicks. Sano Manjiro's attacks were as fierce and ruthless as a hawk, yet he could never break through Hojo Kyosuke's blockade. Before long, this hawk was about to starve.
While Hojo Kyosuke was playing with Sano Manjiro, the expressions of the Toman members on the sidelines turned gloomy.
"Is this the Handless Demon? Truly terrifying. I've never seen Mikey look so powerless."
Within the Toman camp, Draken, the vice-president with blonde braids, said with a stern face.
"Yeah."
Thinking back to how Mikey would always solve things with a single nuclear kick no matter the enemy, Mitsuya Takashi, the Second Division Captain, also wore a worried look.
"That guy is a monster. Our Third Division didn't even last five minutes against him!" Aipah was the most anxious because he had personally experienced Hojo Kyosuke's terror.
It was a strength from another dimension! Completely beyond the ability of middle-school delinquents like them to withstand!
"If you ask me, we should all just rush him together. He's the one who ran onto our turf to provoke us first, right? Since that's the case, we don't need to be polite either."
Muto Yasuhiro, the Fifth Division Captain, said with a sinister smile.
"I agree. Mikey's stamina has been consumed a lot too."
Kawata Nahoya, the orange-haired Fourth Division Captain, also chimed in with a grin.
Hearing his words, everyone realized that Mikey, who had continuously launched attacks on the field, had actually stopped. He was currently squatting on the ground, panting heavily as beads of sweat streamed down ceaselessly.
