Chapter 10: I've Already Finished One, and You're Still...
“Am I... blind?”
Su Nian blinked, confirming that his eyes were indeed open, then looked around in every direction.
Pitch black!
So dark that he couldn’t see his own hand in front of his face!
And terrifyingly silent.
“What’s going on?”
“Could it be some kind of bug…”
“Or did I get teleported inside a wall?”
Murmuring to himself, Su Nian quickly composed himself.
Instinctively, he tried to open the map.
But the next moment, he realized...
“No response?”
“Can’t open it?”
“???”
Su Nian’s face was filled with bewilderment.
Wasn’t the map only disabled in certain designated dungeons?
Wait a minute...
He crouched down and touched the ground with his hand.
“This is... stone bricks?”
He tapped on it.
Though it felt somewhat thick, there was emptiness beneath it.
So there was another layer underground?
Thinking this through, he carefully slid his palm along one direction, keeping it close to the ground.
Soon, he touched a wall!
He tapped it again.
This time, it was solid.
Though this confirmed he was inside some kind of building and likely safe for now, it raised a bigger question...
What kind of bizarre structure was this?
Not a single ray of sunlight could be seen.
A dungeon?
Was there something like this inside the newbie village?
Feeling confused, Su Nian’s only option was to follow the wall and cautiously explore in one direction.
Until...
“Click!”
He seemed to have triggered some switch!
Instantly, glaring lights along the wall lit up in sequence!
Squinting, he saw that the place he was in was actually a rectangular corridor made entirely of solid stone.
Along the corridor walls, every few meters was a dragon head.
Their mouths were open, each holding a glowing orb.
The sudden brightness hurt Su Nian’s eyes, causing him to squint instinctively.
Yet, despite this, he immediately noticed a large red exclamation mark at the far end of the corridor.
Frowning, he narrowed his eyes and walked toward it.
---
But as he approached the red exclamation mark and read the words that appeared out of nowhere, his pupils contracted sharply.
[Welcome to the Land of Treasure!]
“Is it really here?”
Su Nian was incredulous.
Such luck was almost unbelievable.
He recalled that in the previous life, players generally only discovered this hidden dungeon when they reached level twenty, found unexpectedly by one extraordinarily lucky player inside the newbie village.
According to an insider, the Land of Treasure, as the name implies, contains treasures on every floor.
The deeper the floor, the more abundant and extraordinary the treasures.
But to claim these treasures, players must clear each floor.
In the past, a certain guild even spent a fortune gathering over a hundred players, each guaranteed to have at least one purple-grade item and ranging from level seven to nine, just to barely reach the sixth underground floor.
Yet, the treasures from that sixth floor alone rewarded the guild with one red-grade item and several top-tier equipment.
Other rewards were countless.
As for how many floors the Land of Treasure contained?
No one knew the answer.
Thinking of this, Su Nian grew excited.
“If this insider’s information is accurate, then all those players scrambling to enter the main city in the previous life didn’t realize how many opportunities they missed!”
If the news was true,
he would probably be staying here for a while in the early stages.
But whether it was true or not,
he would have to verify it himself.
Su Nian raised his hand and pressed the switch before him.
With a slight push,
“Creak, creak, creak!”
The stone door slowly opened,
revealing a flight of stairs descending downward.
[Hidden Dungeon Hint: Only through unity can endless treasures be obtained!]
Ignoring the message, Su Nian stepped onto the first underground floor.
The first thing to catch his eye was a few skeleton soldiers standing in the center of the corridor.
At the far end was a treasure chest.
Simple and straightforward.
“There really is treasure!”
Su Nian raised an eyebrow and began examining the skeleton soldiers’ information.
[Skeleton Soldier: LV5]
[Rank: Elite]
[HP: 500]
[Attack: 35]
[Skill: Stab]
Not bothering with such weaklings, Su Nian summoned his priest’s staff and launched a basic attack at one of the skeleton soldiers.
[-36]
[Talent not triggered, kill rate +0.01%]
The skeleton soldier was alerted; its empty eye sockets glowed red as it charged swiftly toward Su Nian.
“They run pretty fast.”
Su Nian’s expert kiting skills reappeared.
At his pace—taking down a skeleton soldier every few seconds without injury—in less than two minutes,
he cleared the entire first underground floor.
“Tsk... against early-stage monsters like these, my skills are a bit too overpowering!” Su Nian stretched.
He had just finished warming up.
And yet, others were still struggling?
Typical—he had already finished a cigarette while they were still puffing away.
Pathetic!
Su Nian approached the treasure chest at the corridor’s end.
As the chest slowly opened, a completion message appeared before his eyes.
[Congratulations on clearing the Land of Treasure!]
[Rewards for First Underground Floor: Gold ×50, War Helmet (Purple) ×1, Two D-grade Skills!]
Su Nian: “???”
Wow, a purple item for clearing the first floor?
No wonder this place was called the Land of Treasure.
The drop rates were truly amazing!
He quickly checked the stats.
[War Helmet (Purple)]
[Level: LV5]
[Effect 1: Restores 6% of maximum health per second]
[Effect 2: +3% Dodge Rate]
[Effect 3: +35 Attack]
“???”
“Holy crap, health regeneration? This has got to be one of the best items ever!”
Excited, Su Nian immediately equipped it.
Then he turned to the two skills he had obtained.
[Arrow Rain: Archer’s normal attacks have a 5% chance to trigger Arrow Rain, dealing area damage! (D-grade skill)]
[Charge: A charged punch that deals 20% extra damage to the target! (D-grade skill)]
“An archer’s skill and a brawler’s skill…”
Su Nian twitched at the corner of his mouth.
Not a single one suited him.
He might as well sell these two in the shop later.
“Oh, right!”
Suddenly remembering,
he still had an unused random skill book!
That thing…
Had a chance to grant an S-grade skill!
How insane was an S-grade skill?
Don’t ask!
He hadn’t even seen one in his previous life.
“I’m not asking for a high-level skill now, just give me one that’s usable… please, Jesus, bless me!”
Saying this, Su Nian clasped his hands together.
Jesus: ???
You’re praying to Jesus with your hands clasped like that?
