Lin Pingzhi had indeed become a disciple of Mount Hua. When he saw Ren Yi, aside from his initial surprise and excitement, there was no trace of gratitude in his eyes. Instead, there was a hint of suspicion. Ren Yi was neither surprised nor displeased; he simply glanced at him briefly and then looked away.

At that moment, seated at the main seat in the hall was Yue Buqun. To his right sat a beautiful woman with delicate features. She wore a pale yellow dress, poised and elegant, yet exuding a resolute spirit as fierce as any man. She was undoubtedly Yue Buqun’s wife, Ning Zhongze.

At the lower guest seats sat two men: besides his second senior brother, Mou Yiniu, there was a tall man with a gloomy expression—his eldest senior brother, Yu Danfeng.

Mou Yiniu stood up, cheerful, but Yu Danfeng scoffed coldly, “You’re quite bold.”

Suddenly, Mou Yiniu’s expression stiffened, and he said sternly, “Come here at once.”

Ren Yi smiled faintly, took a few steps forward, and sat down casually. As he sat, he picked up the prepared tea on the table and took a sip.

Seeing this, both men looked somewhat embarrassed. Yu Danfeng broke the silence, “Don’t you have anything to say to the two of us?”

Ren Yi looked at him calmly. “Since it is you two senior brothers who came looking for me, surely you have questions.”

Yu Danfeng’s expression softened slightly, voice lowered, “It’s good that you still recognize us! I ask you, why did you commit such an unforgivable act of betraying our sect?”

Ren Yi replied indifferently, “Nothing more than not wanting to implicate Wudang.”

Mou Yiniu frowned, “Junior brother, what do you mean by that?”

Ren Yi said, “I have killed many disciples from the Qingcheng and Songshan sects. Yu Canghai also fell by my sword.”

Mentioning his killings, Yu Danfeng’s anger flared, “Then why did you do it?”

Ren Yi’s gaze grew distant. “It’s a long story.”

Mou Yiniu smiled bitterly. “Then please, junior brother, tell us.”

Ren Yi glanced at the two and said, “It’s too long; I’m too lazy to explain.”

The hall suddenly fell silent, then laughter broke out, followed by a loud crash.

The solid wooden table was smashed to pieces by a single palm strike.

The dozen disciples of Mount Hua were stunned by his strength. Their respect for the Wudang sect grew instantly. Yu Danfeng sensed something was wrong, immediately stood, and cupped his hands, “Sect Leader Yue, my apologies. I spoke out of turn.”

Mou Yiniu also rose, bowing respectfully.

Yue Buqun smiled kindly, “No need to worry; it’s not a problem.”

Yu Danfeng bowed again, then turned sharply, “At this moment, you still want to cause trouble?”

Ren Yi set down his tea and sighed lightly, “It’s not that I don’t want to tell you the reasons, but even if I explained, no one would believe me.”

“You...”

“Eldest senior brother, don’t be angry. Let me explain.”

Yu Danfeng turned away, irritated and unwilling to face him. Mou Yiniu interrupted, speaking gently, “Junior brother, how could we not believe you? Just tell us honestly why you did such a thing, and I—”

Ren Yi cut him off, “I don’t mean that you won’t believe me. It’s that no one in the world would believe those reasons if I told them.”

Yu Danfeng frowned, “If it’s the truth, why would no one believe it?”

Ren Yi smiled coldly, sarcastic, “People only want to believe pleasant words. They won’t believe what I say. So I won’t waste my breath; I’ll just kill.”

Yu Danfeng pleaded earnestly, “With your actions, won’t the martial world see you as a demon?”

Ren Yi replied casually, “I don’t care.”

The hall fell completely silent. The two senior brothers understood the reason behind this junior brother’s betrayal and his wish not to implicate Wudang. Yet, they still did not know why Ren Yi would kill those righteous figures.

After a long pause, Yue Buqun suddenly spoke, “Young Master Ren, rumors have spread that you’ve joined the demonic cult. If you continue to hide the truth, the righteous sects will surely reject you. I sincerely advise you: why not tell everything? As our senior brothers said, if it is the truth, people will believe it.”

Ren Yi glanced lightly at Yue Buqun.

“You say I’m hiding things?”

Ren Yi’s voice turned cold, “Your words displease me, as if I’m weak. Are you trying to use the righteous sect’s authority to suppress me?”

His displeased expression and hostile gaze made Yue Buqun feel an instant sense of crisis.

Ren Yi’s figure flickered and suddenly vanished! No one expected his speed to be so swift. Then, with a single palm strike, the closer the two were, the fiercer the force became.

Yue Buqun was shocked, channeling Purple Mist energy; his face turned purple instantly as he reached out to strike back.

When the two palms met, Ren Yi’s right hand suddenly changed shape, his technique shifting effortlessly. His palm became a finger, aimed straight at the center of Yue’s palm.

With that single finger, the fingertip pressed on the palm. The palm force dissipated without a trace, but the finger force remained strong. With a sharp sound, a spray of blood burst out. Yue Buqun’s chair shattered from the shock as he staggered back, his palm pierced with a bloodied hole.

Yue Buqun was defeated by a single finger. Then Ren Yi saw a flash of swordlight and heard the sound of a sword slicing through the air.

It was Ning Zhongze’s ‘Unmatched Ning Clan Sword’—silver light dancing, a sword thrust flying out, aimed straight at Ren Yi’s chest. The strike was as swift as lightning, fierce as thunder.

But Ren Yi met the swordlight by extending his hand...

The palm intended to grasp the blade, but the swordlight suddenly vanished... No blood blossomed. Everyone was shocked to see the sword trapped between two fingers. This grip not only extinguished the sword’s light but also killed its momentum, as if a venomous snake had been grasped at its vital spot, rendered helpless.

Ning Zhongze never imagined that his husband’s martial arts could be so profound. Though he had spoken of it before, without witnessing it firsthand, how could she comprehend such shock?

With internal energy channeled into two fingers, the sword tip immediately snapped, the broken blade flying off with a “thud” into the hall’s beam.

Yue Buqun’s bleeding right palm no longer dared to speak.

Ning Zhongze stepped beside him, seeing blood drip onto the stone floor, she scolded sharply, “Such a reckless man! Do you think you can bully Mount Hua?”

The disciples behind her drew their swords, including Lin Pingzhi.

Ren Yi glanced around with a faint smile, saying, “I can bully anyone in the world.” As he spoke, his hand slowly rose...

Seeing his movement and the sword hilt angled behind him, Yue Buqun immediately shouted loudly, “Stop! Put your sword away!”

The disciples retreated, sheathing their swords. Yet Yue Buqun’s body continued to tremble uncontrollably, so much so that his wife supporting him trembled as well.

Ren Yi did not draw his sword. He lowered his hand, and Yu Danfeng and Mou Yiniu stood before him.

“Why did you have to make it like this?”

It seemed as if they were deeply heartbroken.

“You just don’t understand...”

The two senior brothers tried to speak, but Ren Yi said, “I no longer need anyone to understand me.”

Mou Yiniu sighed, “How will you face all of Wudang in the future?”

Ren Yi shook his head, “I am no longer a disciple of Wudang. Why should I face Wudang?”
